SILENT WATERS
A truly international film.
With Kiran Kher (Devdas) who is indian,,, Sabiha Sumar, the director and all other actors r Pakistani, while the crew is a mix of French and German.
Kiran won the Silver Leopard for her performance in the movie, and the 42-year-old director, Sabiha, won the Golden Leopard.
Set in 1979, when Pakistan was under Gen Zia-ul-Haq's martial law, Khamosh Pani is a story of a widow and her son, as the young man veers towards religious extremism.
