MANCHESTER, England -- Manchester City has increased its options and experience at centre back by signing Argentina defender Martin Demichelis on a two-year
deal from Atletico Madrid.

groin injury and Joleon Lescott, Javi Garcia and Matija Nastacic looking shaky

playing under Pellegrini for the third time in his career, having been together
at River Plate and then in a loan spell at Malaga last season. Demichelis, who
has made 37 appearances for Argentina, says "I am delighted to have joined City
because I am still hungry for success and want to improve." Financial details
