Amisha Patel has just completed shooting for Ketan Mehta's Aamir Khan starrer THE RISING. The project has been in the news since its inception stages, but like they say, all's well that ends well. While Ketan Mehta and his team are giving finishing touches to the project [the film is slated for release later this year], Amisha is still reeling under the Aamir Khan charm. Here's Amisha's exclusive take on THE RISING.
ON AAMIR KHAN: [jumps literally] “It was an amazing experience. I dreamt of working with Aamir some day and my dreams realized when I bagged THE RISING. To state that working with him was an enriching experience would be an understatement. I think I learnt a lot by just watching Aamir perform the scenes. After having worked with Aamir in THE RISING and Salman in YEH HAI JALWA, I am waiting for an opportunity to work with Shah Rukh Khan some day.”
ON THE LOOK SHE WEARS: “I am sporting a non-glamorized look in the film. Am dressed in sarees throughout and the colours and light - sometimes white, sometime beige. I haven't worn make up in the film at all. Only some negligible under-eye make-up in a few scenes, otherwise it's a complete natural look. I am not wearing any jewellery either. Towards the end, a scene requires me to wear earrings. That's my look in THE RISING.”
ON KETAN MEHTA: “It's an absolute delight to be a part of the project that's being directed by one of the bests in the country. You know something, he never treated any one of us as stars, but characters. Perhaps that is one of the reasons why everyone has excelled in the film. Believe me, this was one unit where we didn't discuss movies on the sets. Normally, you discuss movies and co-stars after pack up is announced or even during breaks. Aamir and I discussed shares and the trends in the stock market. With Ketan Mehta, it was books and more books. He's an avid reader and so am I. We kept exchanging books all through.”
ON RANI MUKHERJI: “We hardly interacted with each other because we don't have scenes together. As simple as that. But we did shoot the Holi sequence together for two days and it was fun. The atmosphere was cool.”
And what about marriage? Reportedly, the actress is calling it quits later this year, getting married to the man of her dreams. [laughs] “Not at all! Marriage can wait for the next 10 years. It's not on the agenda yet. Trust me,” she says
