PETOSKEY - In a tight race, incumbent

Dittmar, 65, received 187 votes, while his challenger, Carla Crockett, 33, won 162. Dittmar, who received about 54 percent of the votes, has served on the council since 2012. Crockett is an occupational therapist and a first-time public office seeker.
"I want to say a big thank you to the whole election staff and the whole community. I am humble to have your trust and support," Dittmar said.
Crockett reacted to the results on her campaign's Facebook page.
"Despite our hard work, I am sorry to report that we came up short this evening by about 20 votes. Thank you to all of the voters, volunteers, contributors, and supporters. I hope this campaign will inspire others to run for office, let
