A few years ago he directed then the most expensive Pakistani film "Jo Dar Gaya Woh Mar Gaya" which was the Pakistani version of "Consenting Adults". The Indians have also copied this with "Ajnabee". JDGWMG had a great cast, good music, technically and production the film was much better then a normal film and it was a hit at the box office. Just one thing let the film down and that was the direction of Iqbal Kashmiri, he just could not handle the subject properly.
Why on earth does he want make Devdas of all films because everyone is just going to compare it with the Indian version and Iqbal Kashmiri is a useless director.
Had Hasan Askari or Syed Noor directed Devdas then fine.
They are numerous other subjects which one can choose but why Devdas. Looks like that the producer is also on the same mental level as Iqbal Kashmiri.
