The Asian Cultural Association of Pakistan on Thursday announced the list of recipients of 23rd Asian International Film Awards for 2003. 'Larki Punjaban' has been declared the best Urdu movie while 'Allah Negahban' the best Punjabi flick. The awards ceremony will be held on June 4.
A meeting of Film Award Committee and Supreme Council of the Association was held under the chairmanship of Syed Ijaz Ahmad, says a press release issued in Lahore.
Shaan and Saima have been declared Super Stars of the Year 2003. Meera will get Most Glamorous Actress Award while Reema will bag the Best Dancer of the Millennium Award. Syed Noor has been declared the Best Director (Urdu Film). Babar Ali will bag the award for best actor (Urdu Film) and Zara Sheikh for best actress (Urdu Film).
Best writer's award for Urdu films will go to Rauf Khalid. Tauseef Dar and Nagmana Jaffery have been declared best singers. For Punjabi films category, Pervaiz Rana has been declared the best director. Moammer Rana and Sana have been declared best actor and actress.
Speaker National Assembly Ch. Ameer Hussain would preside over the ceremony. Governor Punjab Khalid Maqbool and Federal Minister for Culture Raees Munir are also expected to attend.
