Attiqa, Shan to star in Kasak
Lollywood's producer and art director Tanveer Fatima Rehman is a brave lady. Despite the crisis in the film industry, this NCA graduate has again planned to produce a film, 'Kasak' which she has decided to direct herself.
Before 'Kasak' Tanveer Fatima has to her credit films like 'Guns and Roses' and 'Mujhey Chand Chahiey' as a producer. She was also the art director of these two films. These films were directed by actor-turned-director Shan. 'Guns and Roses' was a big flop while 'Mujhey Chand Chahiey' was a blockbuster hit.
Tanveer Fatima is also the art director of producer Afreen Baig's upcoming mega historical 17-episodes drama serial 'Anarkali', which is being directed by Farooq Mengal.
In an exclusive interview with 'The Nation Plus' Tanveer Fatima said it doesn't matter that our film industry is in crisis. Every night has a day. She said that good days will definitely come soon and we film industry people have to solve our problems ourselves.
Tanveer Fatima said yes as he was going to produce and direct a film 'Kasak''. She said this will be a love-story and woman-oriented film starring Shan, Attiqa Odho, Noor and new comer Sami Khan and other junior and senior artistes. The story has been penned by Sherry Malik and it is a very different and interesting love story. She said this is the story of an aged woman and a young boy. This boy falls in love with this aged woman. But mainly the whole film revolves around Shan and Attiqa Oddu. She said Attiqa Oddu will look different in this film from her other characters which she has already played. Tanveer said the film will be on the sets very soon.
About the music of the film Tanveer Fatima said this time around she is not taking the music of a particular composer rather she is taking different songs according to the situation of the story from the albums of different music groups.
Tanveer Fatima said she is doing this experiment because she thinks that one composer cannot deliver seven songs with different flavours. She said she is taking one song of Ahmad Jahanzeb, one song of Amir Ghulam Ali, one song of Fusion Group 'Ankhon Kay Sagir, Honton Kay Sagir'.
While Roniq Ali and Sajid Ali will compose one song each.
About the choreography of the songs Tanveer Fatima said in this field she is also doing an experiment. She said different choreographers will choreograph the songs and this will be another interesting experience. You will see dances with different colours in one film.
About her advent in direction, Tanveer Fatima said she has the confidence and experience, so she decided to direct her film herself. For the success of a film, she said, if you have a good script with melodious music, the film will definitely prove to be a hit.
About Afreen Baig's historical drama serial 'Anarkali', she said, it was a big challenge for me to construct sets for 'Anarkali' due to its historical perspective. For the originality of the sets designing of 'Anarkali' she has taken the specimen of the colours from the original colours of the Royal Fort. She said she has also studied different historical books for the set designs of 'Anarkali'. She said Afreen Baig is a very sensible and intelligent producer and she is working very hard on 'Anarkali'. She said Afreen is managing everything very sensibly. She said she has utilised all her experience in the set designing of 'Anarkali'.
Tanveer Fatima said she had also designed the sets for director Rauf Khalid's historical saga 'Laaj'. She said she had worked very hard on set designing of 'Laaj' but unfortunately 'Laaj' could not click at the box-office. But 'Laaj' was a good attempt of Rauf Khalid because it was a difficult story sets in 1937 period.
Tanveer Fatima said the fate of the film industry will not change until educated and sensible producers come to the film industry.

Gun and Roses was not a flop. The film had a wonderful first half and the second could have been better. Unfortunately the film has never been released on video. I did manage to get a pirate print of it. Technically and Production wise the film was great with some cool music. Miles bettter then the average Pakistani flick.

lollywood needs more people like this lady:
she gets GOOD actors and actresses for her movie; a mix of vetrans AND newcomers. she selects a decent story, various artists for the music, and DOES NOT GIVE FALSE PROMISES FOR A RELEASE DATE!! friends....THIS is a classic example of an 'educated' director/producer in lollywood. not the retards making salakhein.
