Luey, who was declared cancer free in May after a five-month bout with
oststeosarcoma in his leg, was invited to the game by Ovechkin during
Hometown Hockey on Rogers last month. His invitation coincided with the
Maple Leafs Hockey Fights Cancer Awareness Night.
Besides reading the opening lineup, Luey was on the Washington bench
during warmups and welcomed the Capitals onto the ice before the game.
