Gayab • Movie Preview
Starring: Tusshar, Antra Mali, Raman.
After directing the unconventional Darna Mana Hai, Prawaal Raman returns with his second venture for the Varma Corp.
Tusshar Kapoor is a simple middle cla** man in love with a girl (Antara Mali) who lives in the opposite building. Taunted by his mother for being a good-for-nothing boy, he complains to GOD that nobody likes him and he would be better off if he were to be invisible and his prayers are answered. Now you see me! Now you don't! Varma Corporation Ltd and K Sera Sera's new film, Gaayab, directed by Prawaal Raman is about a man who turns invisible. Buzz is that the film is loosely inspired from Hollywood's Hollow Man, starring Kevin Bacon and Elisabeth Shue (that adorable girl you saw in Adventures In Babysitting).
Originally titled Vishnu Prasad Gayab Ho Gaya, the film features Tusshar Kapoor as Vishnu Prasad, a guy who is extremely low on confidence. Antara Mali plays his elusive dream girl. Raman Trikha plays her over-possessive boyfriend. Doesn't the plot sound similar to the 'stop' storyline in Darna Mana Hai, which featured Aftab Shivdasani and Isha Koppikar? Maybe because Raman directed the film with 'six stories and one ending'. Tusshar's last release Khakee got him good reviews. Will Gaayab, which has him in the central role, do the trick for him?
It's a story of Vishnu Prasad (Tusshar Kapoor), a simple genuine boy next door. But he is not the typical flashy winner that we are used to as the hero. To add to it, things always go wrong with him.
He has to deal with a lot of matters, biggest being his mother, who nags and still beats him. His father, who is a henpecked husband, is hardly any help to to his son. His friends always treat him like an idiot.
Mohini (Antara Mali), the love of his life doesn't even know he exists and her boyfriend (Raman Trikha) wants to break his bones.
And now to make matters worse God makes him INVISIBLE.
He enjoys his power like a child and later starts to use the darker side of his mind to achieve his personal goals.
He takes the advantage of being invisible and tries to win Mohini's heart by means of money, pretending to be God etc but nothing works. Neglected and frustrated he has an option to go the wicked way. Does he?
Will Vishnuprasad be able achieve his goals?
