Writing a descriptive essay on a cultural event is no mean feat - you have to be persuasive, engaging, and entertaining. You have to transport
your reader into the very event that is being described, reliving it all over again as you take them through the timeline of it with all its familiar sights, smells, and sounds. It's easy to get lost in the beauty of writing and forget the deeper purpose you're trying to achieve - to give the reader an experience that will last long after they've put your essay down. This is not a piece of fiction or merely an informal recounting of events; this is a piece of writing designed to persuade your reader that something - whether it is good or bad - has happened or needs to happen as a result of this occurrence. The language used must be precise, ie: subjective descriptions and objective accounts which means that you can hardly use words like "I" since they are stated in an opinionative tone.
