prime just announced they will air the FIRST EVER PAKISTANI MUSIC AWARDS, which were held a couple of weeks ago by Indus Music!!!
we can add this to a long list of firsts by PTV Prime:
-Live Basant show -Live Concert from Wembly Arena aired internationally -Eid show coverage -Tribute shows for Pakistan's BEST, NFAK and Noor Jehan -and now the first ever Indus Music Awards, complete with red carpet ceremony!

i think the fact that our pop singers don't get work in lollywood is a GOOD THING. their industry (pop music industry) is a money-making machine while lollywood is a sinking ship. they don't need to do playback singing in bad lollywood movies. it might hurt their image.
as 4 going 2 india....our singers go because they are asked to come, and they take advantage of india's media - thats all. they go as pakistani's and come back as pakistani's!

the video's inspired by a true story/event. its abt salman ahmed's mom (and/or grandmother?) who was originally from patiala, a punjabi speaking section of india. salman ahmed recently visited the city and he made the song 'ghoom tana' based on his experience.
u can watch the documentary on junoon's website. everything is explained in it. it is 15 minutes, and it includes interviews with all those involved in the music video inclduing salman, the indian actress, singer, and naseer-udin-shah. the actual video is also there! hope that helps pak-kuri.

nope. the only 'actor' from pakistan was salman ahmed himself. lol.
but still - the video is awsome. whoever that indian actress is, suits the role. she's not covered with makeup like most actresses in movies/music videos.
naseer-udin-shah's voiceover is also excellent. the classical singer adds a nice touch. my only complaint is that she doesn't sing in one tone. she's all over the place. lol.
and the song by junoon is awsome 2 begin with. junoon is junoon afterall.
but the best part of the video is the direction by saqib malik. he mastered khamaj and now he's done the same with ghoom tana. wicked.
this video shows that joint production with india/pak is working thus far.

shy was not the right word.....i should say zara is more reserved. even tho she performs in front of an audience...she has yet to come abroad. in that sense, she is more reserved than meera, who would go ANYWHERE to get attention!!

i'll be going to the independence day mela in toronto on aug. 14th. ali haider, rafaqat ali khan, nooran lal, and some other r advertised for this show...
then on aug. 15th in toronto's city hall, there will be another independence parade with saira naseem and others performing...
then on aug. 22nd, abrar, reema, rabi pirzada, and fakhir come to toronto for independence day celebrations!

skydome can seat upto 60,000+ if we can get an allstar lineup like the one i mentioned and maybe special appearances by legends like medhi hassan...i'm confident we can sellout skydome. not only pakistani's but indians would come and watch as well. it could be a cultural show...
we've never had the milan show here tho. i think its exlusively held in london?
humaira has come here 2 times in the same year - the same month in fact! she was excellent. as u know she is my favorite female singer. i also like how she is conservative in the way she dresses yet very modern...for example, have u seen her hair now?! first she cut it which was unique, and now she has dyed it red!!! she's very modern yet 100% pakistani!! i love that abt her. plus next 2 hadiqa, she is the only female singer who draws a young crowd.
abrar and reema r coming here 4 a mela on the 22nd. i hope abrar sings more new songs, and reema dances to a new song as well. lets see!!

no yaar...i didn't go 2 see nirma. she came with shehzad roy, rahim shah and some others. i don't know who roop is either. lol. i only went cause it was an abrar concert...roop just happend 2 be there as well.
we dont have 2 many comedy stage shows. the last time we had one was 5 years ago i think?? but they r pretty popular here as well. musical concerts are more popular tho..we just need heavy promotion. if promoted right...i'm pretty confident that we can sellout skydome with attractions like abrar, hadiqa, jawad ahmed, ali zafar, junoon, fuzon, strings, omer sharif, reema, and more all on one super show!!!

i think the reason our actresses/actors don't come to do shows like bollywood, is because our people are more interested in pakistani music. fact of the matter is lollywood is only liked by a select few...meanwhile our music is loved by people worldwide. thats probably why maummar, ahmed and such actors do not come with the actresses. and the only reason the actresses come is because they can dance. pakistani actors cannot! which in my opinion is a good thing!!
in canada we have had nirma, roop, deedar, and reema come in the last 3 years. i don't know who came before that time tho?! i was not a lollywood fan so i never paid attention!

lol...u're right yaar...1 or 2 more songs and nirma would have been nangi!! lol.
so saima danced to a shazia manzoor song?! i've seen her perform on that song in a movie...it was good. as 4 shaan...2 be honest with u...i dont like 2 see him dance. he is an action hero type and he doesn't look good when dancing. but i will wait 2 see and then comment!
as 4 ali haider, i'm not a big fan of him, but its cool when singers get other artists to dance to their songs. so if noor danced for him it must have been wicked. i also liked it when fakhir got ahmed bhatt, mehreen raheel and other models to dance 2 his song on eid!
i agree that we should get the youngsters to come overseas and perform @ concerts. veena, zara, sara chaudry, ahmed bhatt, resham, and even singers like fuzon, ali zafar etc should all come here and gain exposure. they have a HUGE following outside of pakistan and they should take advantage of that
