Taj Mahal will get the better business even though it has been huge flop everywhere. Thanks to our media which in the last couple of weeks is aggressively promoting the film.
Just wish our media could do the same when it comes to Pakistani films.

Golimoro2 you have made an excellent point and I am also thinking on the same wave length. We firstly need to get our industry on the same level as the Indians and then we can provide competition to the Indians.

Nice to have you back.
One thing which is interesting that after selling your shop in Shahalmi or also called Shah Alam Market which is the biggest wholesale market in the Punjab you have gone and bought a shop on M.M Alam Road.
For a person who loves the inner Lahore then why go and buy a shop in a upmarket area like Gulberg.

With Taj Mahal getting released on the 28 April and then Mughal-e-Azam getting released on 2nd June. It will be interesting when will tarap will get released.
This is a problem which alot of local filmmakers will face in the coming months if Indian films are screened in Pakistan on a regular basis.
The Cinema owners will prefer to release Indian films firstly and then Pakistani films. This will mostly effect Urdu films and not Punjabi.
One thing which I cannot understand how the hell is the screening of Indian films is going to improve our industry.

Brilliantly put Charizmatic. Just wish they are more people like you around.
Paki lion it is just rubbish that the media is comparing our films with indians film so that we don't copy them. The media loves critizing Pakistani films and can never write anything positive about them. It just wants to find faults in our films and somehow or another brand the film a copy of some Indian film.
This is why I agree with Charizmatic that we have a huge inferior complex problem. We are still living as second class citizens.
Standard I have seen the films that you have mentioned and tell me how are these films copies of Indian films. Yes the names have been copied from Indian films. Tell me if there is anything else copied.
No one ever mentions that Sanjay Leena Bansani's film "Hum Dil Day Chukay Sanam's first half is an exact copy of Syed Noor's Sargham.
I agree with Straight that even tomorrow if our industry starts making the best films in the world our public is so obessesed with Indian films, Indian channels and Indian music. That people will just watch Bollywood films in our Cinemas. It shows how patriotic we really are. Like it or not but the fact is majority of our public worships Indian entertainment and for them to see Pakistani stuff is an insult.
Say for example in 6 months time Karan Johar's "Kabhi Alvida Na Kahna" gets released with Shoaib Mansoor's "Khuda Kay Liye" or Javed Shiekh's "Khullay Asmaan Kay Neechay". Our public will watch Karan Johars film for sure and then I will be interested to see what happens to the Pakistani films. Will they be flops if they are even better then the Indian film ?

Why does our print media when reviewing Pakistani films always have to compare them with Indian films. This is something unjustified and unfair. Why can't they just take the films on face value and review what they see.

Well Paki lion and Charizmatic both of you have been critical of Shaan and have termed Majajan another run of the mill Punjabi film should read the above review.

No standard this is not the first Punjabi film in DTS Sound. In 2004 a film called Jageer was in DTS sound and last year the film Daku Hasina was in DTS sound also.
Of the clips from the film I have been the picture quality is very good.

Here is the translation.
Great Story, Dialogues, Music and Photography the Hallmarks Of Majajan.
With Gujjar and Badmash type films ruling the roost a film like Majajan is a breath of fresh air.
Only films like Majajan can take the film industry forward. Majajan story is different from the norm.
Right at the start Shaan is shown as married to Madiha Shah but this marriage is a comprimise between two families. Both Shaan and Madiha Shah now this.
To make things more interesting the writer has included a murder in the proceedings but this really was not needed.
The film takes a huge turn with the introduction Saima in the film. Saima comes to the village and is shown as a marasan (singer) and our hero falls in love at first sight.
On the other hand Madiha's brother wants to avenge a murder. Of who I have no idea because it does not say. Only STRAIGHT can inform us.
Shaan's father who has always protected his child in every situation this time stays on the sidelines after finding out about his son's feelings for Saima.
He orders Saima to leave the village which she does. Even after Saima leaves the village Shaan cannot forget her. He is deeply in love with her.
After this the film shows how Shaan fights society and everyone else to obtain his love.
I won't tell you the ending.
Ruksana Noor has written the script but dialogues and screenplay are from Syed Noor.
The Sufiyana life style has been shown and at the end the film has been inspired by Bulley Shah's life.
Music by Zulifiqar Ali is good.
Whenever Shaan has been given an opportunity to act outside the gujjar and badmash films he has proved that what a wonderful actor he is.
Its not Shaan's wish that he wanted to become the next Sultan Rahi but its the wishes of the producers.
One sees the real Shaan in Majajan. The Shaan which viewers saw in Saqib Malik's video Khamaj.
The photography is also very good.
Not a complete review but this is the translation.

Taken from the Post:
Majajan has broken record for Lollywood, the set by Reema Khan's Koi Tuj Sa Kahan a year before. Majajan earned one lac 28 thousand rupees while its nearest competitor Koi Tuj Sa Kahan earned one lac 11 thousand rupees on the first day at cinemas. “Majajan has termed out to be oxygen for the Pakistani film industry,” said Syed Noor, director of Majajan.
The above does not make sense. Are the collections from just one Cinema or all the Cinemas from Lahore.

The censorboard is totally corrupt and the people involved are taking huge bribes especially the censorboard Chairman. The government as usual is sleeping.

Standard In Raja Sahab Adil Murad was the solo hero with Sahiba. So Charizmatic is right. Even he is the son of the great Waheed Murad but I feel he is not hero material.

Well Majajan has been released all over Pakistan this Friday and surprise surprise the film has been declared a massive hit. It has opened to packed audiences and has gone "House Full" all over. People are buying tickets in the black to see Maajan. Well this is what two leading Urdu dailies have reported.
What is surprising is how can a film be declared a hit after one just day. Any how my best wishes to Saima and Co and I hope the film is a hit.
