The film is based on the Kashmir struggle and was directed by Iqbal Kashmiri. Not a great film just average. Would rather watch Ghar Kab Aoye gaye or Tere Pyar Main if you want to see a patriotic film or even watch Jannat Ki Talaash which is based on partition.

Nazar is not even ready. Karachi without any doubt is rocking. So why dont the people of Karachi come forward and make full length feature films. Whats stopping them. We love critizing and putting ourselves down all the time.

The Mazhar dk website does have alot of mistakes especially in the history on Pakistani films year by year. He has highlighted the films which he likes and in turn has missed alot of quality films.

The reason it sunk in the UK because of no publicity and very few people actually Knew that the film was on. I also found out after a week that the film was on. Even in Pakistan it was not a hit.

The only positive aspect of the film was its music and the portion which was shot in Malaysia.

Larki Punjaban was basically inspired by Tere Pyar Main and thats what let it down and Saima.

Some news Charizmatic. At least there is one person who has kept his world on making a movie. Most people would have prefered a patriotic film on the arm forces from him instead Shoaib Mansoor has gone for a difficult subject.

All the best and hope that the film becomes the biggest hit of 2005.

Rahim Shah's new video is pretty good. Agree with charizmatic and the fact is the time has come we need the latest technology for films and for the music industry. Like this we will never progress.

Umair16 Zee is only showing these programmes here in the UK and Europe only. What alot of us are trying to say is why don't our channels show Pakistani films and Pakistani stuff. Who is going to promote our film industry and music.

Ary and Geo are already pushing Indian stuff. Ary is making programmes like Wannabes (finding a singer for Bollywood), Aik Jhlak,Suneray log all Bollywood releated programmes.

On the one hand our channels are trying to fight the Indian cultural invasion and then other channels are showing Indian stuff.

Or have our channels lost the fight to the Indians. No wonder people back home are obsessed with indian channels.

Charizmatic you are right these channels should be banned.

Well done yet again especially as most Pakistanis think not just Reema but no Pakistani actress can dance.

According to the Urdu daily "Khabrain" Reema is thinking of releasing her flick on Eid which I don't think is possible considering that the post production has just started. Lets wait and see.

Legends' tributes to Reems

Talking of filmy belles can we forget Reema? The talented actress who has been going from strength to strength recently also dazzled a contingent from Bollywood with her mesmerising performance at a show in USA. It was a show in honour of Bollywood legend Vanjanti Mala who was also in attendance.

When Reema gave a tribute to the yesteryear leading lady by performing on few of her dance numbers, she really had every one sitting up and taking notice. At the end, her dancing talent was acknowledged and admired by Vajanti herself as well as Bipasha Basu.

But what really went to the heart of our gal were the words of dance legend Helen who said that Reems was a complete dancer. Atta girl!

Over the last few years a number of Pakistani showbiz sits have started but the problem with all of them is that they never get updated. I personally have to go through all the Pakistani newspaper websites for info on Lollywood. Or some times I get the urdu film weekly Nigar or Faisla.

Getting back to television, there attiutude towards Lollywood is unbeleivable. Firstly they don't show any films and then very few channels show film based programs.

Prime TV shows Lollywood Today every week, PTV world shows Lollywood for U every week. Can't say anything about other channels as I live in the UK. Very disappointed with Ary who don't show any Pakistani films even many people have complained hundred of times. The same scenerio is with film based programmes.

On the other hand an Indian channel like Zee shows a Pakistani film every week.

The picture was taken at a recent Bollywood awards show which was a tribute to Indian Legends. Reema is giving the award to Vijayanimala. She also performed the dance for the tribute to Vijayantimala.

Reema is a brilliant dancer and the Bollywoodwallas always call her even they have so many of their own stars.

Considering in Pakistan dancing is considered taboo. We have no dancing schools and no academics. It yet again shows how much talent we have.

Shaby she did direct the film Babu with Saud in the main lead and it was released in 2001. Saud had a double role and the story revoles around a boy(you always hear of girls) who is bought up in a brothel. The film had good music and the print quality is good. The film flopped but has been shown on Indus TV but I don't think it has been released on DVD/Video.

You are lucky Charizmatic and you are right he is a wonderful person. The great Nadeem and Waheed Murad have always been my two favourite actors.

I personally feel that he has wasted himself on TV and should stick to films. Fortunately for all his die hard fans he is in the cast for all the 4 main big Urdu films which are due to be released in the coming months.

The best option for him should be film direction especially with all his experience. It was way back in 1967 with Chakori that he made his film debut when most of us weren't even born.

It will be interesting to see that 3 new English films were released on Eid after a long time and how did do at the box office. The problem with English films is that the pirated DVDs are released months in advance and when they do eventually do get released for the big screen no watches them.

We must get rid of piracy and improve the standard of Cinema halls in Pakistan if Cinema is going to survive in Pakistan because one of the biggest single reason why people don't come to Cinemas is the pathetic conditions that they are in.

Pehla Pehla Pyar is scheduled for a December release which can be any week in December according to a newspaper report.

Much depends on how well Salakhain and Hum Aik Hain do in the comimg weeks.

Kohi tujh sa Kahan is slated for release after Muharram.

Every Cinema in Pakistan just has one screen. There is no concept of multi cineplexes in Pakistan except in karachi recently a new Cinema opened with 2 screens.

Intersting but good news because the industry needs hit films especially Urdu films.

Looks like the English press is supporting Salakhain and the urdu press is supporting Hum Aik Hain.

Washi Hasina is doing well also because of the hot numbers of Laila.

Totally agree with shaby that Zia-ul-haq's martial law destroyed Cinema in Pakistan. Standard what new film industry are you talking. If you think the so called educated lot of Karachi are going to revive the film industry then forget it. They are only interested in making money and have no love for Cinema. This is why they are all into TV production because its the most easiest way to make money in Pakistan. They are not bothered about quality, all just want to print money.

If they are really sincere then what's stopping them.

Firstly I have not compared both movies and the above is not my work. I have just taken some info from a different bulletin board and put it up for some interesting reading.

I have not seen VeerZaara and have only read the reviews.

Charizmatic I am sorry to say that I don't agree with your opinion of Tere Pyar Main which is unfair.

It was a great movie with good music. Technically and production it was top notch. The film was a big hit. It was the class audience that made it a hit. The film got excellent reviews especially in the English press.

The set of the Taj Mahal which was used in the film has become a permanent fixture at the Bag-e-jinnah in Lahore.

You cannot compare a film which has a budget of 30-40 crores with a film with a budget of 2-3 crores in terms of techinal and production quality.

The simple fact is that the Indians have copied loads of our stuff before and are still doing it.

Yes Hanif Raja is in it. The story of Tere bin Jiya na Jaye revoles around 4 characters which are Ehsan Khan, Imran Malik, Zara Shiekh and Sherry.

Ehsan Khan and Hanif Raja both study in a college in Dubai. Ehsan Khan is a simple and straight forward person and most of the other students take his simplicity as being befkoof. He loves Sherry but cannot express his feelings. Imran Malik then tries to get them both together and in the meanwhile Imran Malik falls in love with Zara Shiekh but has to contend with Zara's father Nadeem.

Imran Malik not only has to get the girl of his dreams but also has to help Ehsan Khan get his girl. To achive this he has to cross alot of obstacles. This is the crux of the story according to above article.
