Obsolete and needed no more,
like empty shells washed ashore.
We live our lives on hopes and dreams,
sail through life on plans and schemes.

Run aground before reaching goals,
just out of reach beyond the shoals.
New horizons a tad too far,
Hopelessly rests upon sand bar.

In the end even the strong lose,

with choices we make, things we chose.
Signs of danger never heeded,
comes the day you are not needed.

Memories so weathered and worn,
reflect back the day you were born.
Facing life's end in solemn mood,
