President Musharraf

WASHINGTON, March 18: A vast majority of Pakistanis, about 86 per cent, rates President Pervez Musharraf favourably, says a survey by a major American organization.

The report by the Washington-based Pew Research Center also says that 60 per cent Pakistanis view President Musharraf "very favourably." This is "by far the highest rating of any leader in the survey," says poll director Andrew Kohut. "Pakistanis expressed highly favourable opinions of their president."

The Pew Research Center is a non-profit and non-governmental organization, which specializes in opinion surveys. Its reports are widely respected in Washington's academic circles.

The researchers surveyed public opinions in nine countries, asking a randomly selected group of people questions on various subjects, ranging from the war in Iraq to their opinion about their own leaders and about other major US allies in the war on terror.

The survey says that most Europeans had no views about Gen Musharraf and a third or more in each of the nine countries except Pakistan gave no opinion. Views of President Musharraf were more positive than negative in Turkey, and were about evenly divided in Britain, the United States, Russia, and Jordan. Negative opinion of Gen Musharraf was strong in France, Germany and Morocco.

Majorities in every country surveyed except the United States had an unfavourable opinion of President Bush, with negative ratings ranging from 57 per cent in Britain to 85 per cent in both France and Germany.

Outside the United States, the support for Mr Bush is the highest in Britain, 39 per cent. Six-in-ten have an unfavourable view of Mr Bush in Russia, and two-thirds - 67 per cent - feel this way in Turkey.

musharaf is sooo good, he's sooo good he's soo good that he's jst ultra good...lol.. ..
i think he's the best president we've had so far which is y i keep up to date with pk politics otherwise b4 him all the others jst wore their kameez shalwars and sat with the interpreter in the middle..
atleast he knows how to communicate internationally, nice person, patriotic, well-dressed..
i wud say HE IS AN ALL-ROUNDER!

well, Saki Good looking hona kisi ki choice nahi hai yeah chance ki baat hai ke he is good looking. aur mein aap ki baat se disagree karta hoon almostly sab se. dont be annoyed @ me.
u said ke woh achha president hein. being a paki i think president ke jaane se pahle ham nahi kah sakte ke woh achhay hein ke nahi.
Secondly, shalwar Qameez is our National Dress. whatever most of us like to prefer use Jeanz and something like that.
The Another point u made that he know how to talk or deals with international affairs, can speak English and Well Dressed. English boolna its a ability not not the intelligence. if i started English then i'll be a Reasonable person. i think not at all. he is Army Man. army mai tu cook ko bhi English aati hai. but they guys dont prefer them to eat & drink wid them. good communication skills............iss pe mujhe apne bachpan ka ek Nightmare yaad aa gya. once a Faqeer Robbed in our ghar wid the same Communicating Skills. pahle tu uss banday ne khana maanga tu meri Maan ji ne de dia. phir uss ne kaha ke mein khanay ke baad apni Behan(my Maan Ji) ko ek wazeefa bataoon ga. aisa wazeefa bataya ke meri Maan Ji se Kharoos saray Paisay hi le gya. even ek rupya bhi nahi choora. so yeah baatien doesn't matter ke kaun achha bolta hai. this does matter ke woh us pe amal kitna karta hai. aur all rounder wali baat tu Cricket mai hoti hai. aur imran khaan kahte hain ke ek All rounder se bahtar ek professional Batsman or Bowler hota hai. bcoz he has the ability on his skills. so, these mortal thing doesnt matter thats does matter how we utilize them.
i think aaj ki itni dose kaafi hai. do u agree Fragi Bhaai?

jinaab, stupidguy....u have decent points, lekin sab kuch choro....u can't deny that ever since he came into power, pakistan has prospered. as an outsider looking in, i CLEARLY see a difference now, compared to 5, maybe 10 years ago. so indeed musharraf is a excellent president so far. when he leaves we will re-evaluate, but 4 now, he's doing a super job. and 86% of pakistani's agree with this!!

Mushraf is really good..he is a realstic person..I like very much..not like mostly..they speak lie and didn't do for pakistan something else.

yeah he is damn really good, every decision he made, is in the interest of pakistan! and he want to bring give pakistan good name, thats why i encouraged him if the army wants to start operation against the terrorist who are hiding in our o beautiful country...but those stupid pro-nawaz shariff and pro-bhutto parties and the stupid religous parties always wants to drive anti-musharraf campaign...

first of all main ne to uss ki looks ke bare main koi point nahin banaya..u can read ma post 100 times and u will see i haven't said in any way he's goodlooking...i said he is good not good looking...
u make nice points but i have ma reasons 4 saying 4 wat i said......
musharaf ki maujoodgi main hi dekha ja sakta hai ke uss ne pk ke liye kiya nahin kiya..changes nazar aah rehi hain..pk ka image much better ho gaya..uss ki policies ko dekhain to pata chale ga ke pk ko sort out karne ki koshish kar raha hai....
english will be seen a sign of inteligence as well as ability on an international level coz bahir ke mulkon main ja ke wo khud baki presidents se discuss to kar sakta hai..unn se communicate kar sakta hai, kissi interpreter pe depend nahin ho ga..he can argue well with the international community and this in itself will be inteligence...
aur agar uss ne army main seekhi hai english to baki kiyon uth ke aah gaye hain, unn ko bhi seekna chahiye..this is the 21st century aur hamain international community ke sath chalna hai, well-dressed ho ge to pk ka image hi acha ho ga not that kameez shalwar is a bad thing..but i think he wears very nice suits and it makes a good impression when he's sitting there talking to BBC or CNN!
now i'd say don't get annoyed with me, but i don't agree with ya argument either!
