Aamir Khan’s new WIFE

Aamir Khan and his new bride Kiran Rao are currently on an extended honeymoon.

India’s reclusive superstar Aamir Khan has wed his newest girlfriend, Kiran Rao, in a secret ceremony in London.

The 38-year-old actor first met Rao on the sets of Lagaan, where she was an assistant director. Rao has also assisted Ashutosh Gowariker on Swades.

The marriage, held a month ago, was by all accounts an impromptu affair.

The couple is now on an extended honeymoon. Aamir had left with Kiran for a month-long vacation to the UK and told his friends in Mumbai that he had no plans to wed yet.

Though Rao and Khan met four years ago, their relationship apparently turned serious barely a year ago.

A source close to Khan says, “Both of them were very serious about each other.”

The couple had started living-in together in Khan’s Pali Hill flat in Bandra. Just before leaving for London, Rao had been heard telling a close friend that after coming back from her trip, she would be doing up their flat.

Rao, when contacted in London, did not deny the marriage but was reluctant to divulge any details. “I don’t think I am ready to talk about this right now…” was all she would say, while Khan was unavailable for comment.

This is Khan’s second shot at matrimony, while for Bangalore girl Kiran, it’s a first. Khan was earlier married to Reena Dutta for 16 years before he obtained a divorce from her last year. (See Gallery: Aamir does it again)

Khan has two children from his first marriage — son Junaid and daughter Aira.
