Remember Abhishek Kapoor the guy who made his debut with Uff Yeh Mohabaat with Twinkle Khanna. Well, he is all set to release his directorial debut. Titled Aryan, the film stars Sohail Khan and Aishwarya Rai look alike Sneha Ullal. Aryan has Sohail Khan play a struggling athlete whom success has eluded. In a bid to prove himself he steps in a competitive boxing ring and aims to become a national champion. Puneet Issar plays Sohail Khan's boxing teacher, while Sneha plays his girlfriend in the film. "Sohail took rigorous physical training in the gymnasium," informed Abhishek. Through the intense boxing sequences, Sohail remains bare-chested.
When asked whether big brother Salman Khan would be a better bet for the role, Abhishek said, "I had written the script with Sohail in mind." Abhishek has approached sports personalities like Sania Mirza and Dhanraj Pillai to promote his film. When asked if the film was based on Hollywood hit Million Dollar Baby that focused on boxing teacher's relationship with his student, Abhisek said, "I have not seen the film but am aware that it revolves around a female boxer and her teacher."
