his media availability singled out both Jones and Jamaal Williams when noting
players who looked more fit than ever when they reported.The two-time league MVP
said he used to chide Jones for being “the most athletic, fast guy with a little
bit of a belly.” That apparently is no longer the case as Jones has gotten more
lean while working out on his own.Rodgers can tease Jones (and Williams) all he
wants, but in LaFleur’s offense he is going to need them. The head coach made it
clear he wants to make Rodgers’ life easier by taking things off his plate and
that means running the ball more often. LaFleur often spoke of “marrying the run
with the pass” and while the offense will always tilt towards the pass with a
talent like Rodgers under center, a more balanced attack should be music to the

condition of anonymity because neither the Packers nor the Titans had announced
the decision.The 39-year-old LaFleur spent this season as offensive coordinator
for the Titans, his first calling plays in the NFL. He takes over for Mike
McCarthy, who was fired during the season following a stunning home loss to
Arizona on Dec. 2. Offensive coordinator Joe Philbin went 2-2 to close out the
season as the Packers failed to reach the playoffs for the second straight year
with a 6-9-1 record that was the second straight under .500 for the storied
