So I'm not sure if there is already a topic about this. I am approaching my 2-year mark after the diagnosis. A few weeks ago, I finally made an appointment with the dentist (finally feeling well enough to do it) I was very nervous about going to my cleaning. It's a good thing I brought my own stuff, because they didn't really seem to realize how sensitive I was to trace amounts of gluten. As a result, the dentist told me that I needed several fillings. What did not surprise me, I had cavities since childhood. My question is, what do I need to look for with the materials they are going to use for my fillings? I sent my dentist an article saying that most of the products he would use might contain gluten. He practically waved me off. Is this something I really need to worry about?? I don't want to get fillings if the material contains gluten and will be in my mouth. I am the only one of my friends who has celiac disease, so I have no one else to ask what they had to do when they went to the dentist. I would appreciate any help! My anxiety is just crazy right now when I think about it.
