Javeria Jalil & Saud have traditional wedding
KARACHI- Unlike other celebrity marriages that are either a secret or an exclusive affair, Javeria Jalil and Saud's wedding was an open and much-hyped event attended by the city's elite, celebrities and media folk.
It was an oriental wedding all right. The celebrations started from December 21 and ended on 27th with Valima at Bradadari.
A Mehfil e Naat was observed on 21st, wherein both actors recited Naats. It was followed by Mehndi on 23rd at Orchard Club, Clifton. It was a joint function of both the families. Finally, on December 25, the grand wedding ceremony took place at Creek Club.
It was an eventful week for the families of both Saud and Javeria that brought together a whole galaxy of stars from TV and film.
On December 26, a musical evening was held at Gizri Lane V where relatively fewer guests were invited. It was a VIP event that saw ministers, leading singers such as Naeem Abbas Roofi, Fakhir Mahmood, Amjad Sabri, and comedian Umer Sharif crowding the place.
Veteran actor-turned-politician Raj Babbar arrived especially from Mumbai to attend the Mehendi ceremony, while those who came from Lahore included Moammar Rana, Madiha Shah, John Rambo, Sahiba, Khushbu, Arbaz Khan and Nadia Ali. From Karachi, Samina Pirzada, Behroz Sabzwari, Shabbir Jaan, Seema Ghazal, Aijaz Aslam, Adnan Siddiqui, Faisal Qureshi, and Saima Qureshi actively participated in the wedding feliciations.
Provincial Minister for Labour and Transport Adil Siddiqui and Provincial Minister for Sports and Culture Qamar Mansoor also attended the event.
On his wedding night, Saud reached the club with his family and friends doing bhangra but he was not allowed to enter the place in his ornamented Bagi that was pulled by four horses. He had to come back in his car. Uncles of Saud, Qari Waheed Zafar Qasmi and Qari Asif Qasmi conducted the Nikkah proceedings.
Members of MQM Rabita Committee were also there to give blessings to the bride and the groom.
Security inside the club was constantly on the alert and a number of reporters were also barred from entering the arena.
The Valima ceremony was arranged in the lawn of Polo Ground Bagh-e-Jinnah.
