The actor's new release, RANG DE BASANTI, has embarked on an overwhelming start in the Overseas territory, crossing the magical figure of Rs. 6.25 crores from the four major markets [U.S.A., U.K., Australia, Gulf] in its opening weekend. The business is bigger and better than Aamir's last release, MANGAL PANDEY - THE RISING. Clearly, RANG DE BASANTI is Aamir's biggest opener in Overseas.

oh what a movie ...saw it at the PVR multiplex in new delhi ....awesome movie and grrrrt music....amir rocks and is in full form after mangal pandey..om prakash mehra is a grrrt director and a very impressive technician. the cinematography and art direction is outstanding.It also has a very relevent Indian theme about the Mig 21's . alice patten is also impressive and soha ali khan looks ravishing . like all aamir movies this one has a nice kissing scene between him and alice patten. its a blockbuster in India as well. seems like his second marriage to kiran rao is lucky for him . also in Bombay my friends noticed his ex wife reena watching the movie with his kids.

Aamir Khan sweeps North America!
UTV's "Rang De Basanti" has connected with the audiences of North America in a big way. "I have never ever witnessed such crowds at my theatre," says Shariq Hamid, CEO Funasia Dallas. RDB has been watched by approximately 90,000 people on 61 screens, a record for an Indian movie in terms of average per screen for a 3-day weekend. "So many people are coming for RDB and coming back for the next show," says Shiraz Jivani, who owns Naz 8 Cinemas in California. Police was summoned at the Cineplaza Theatre in New Jersey to control serpentine queues running deep into its parking lot.
