The opportunist

Nadia will be seen in Parvez Rana's next film. The former child actress, who made her debut in Aslam Dar's Sapni, grabbed Rana's attention when she insisted on performing a few dance steps for the director after inviting him and his film crew over to her place for tea. Rana, who had seen Nadia in Sapni, was charmed by the young

theatre artiste and promptly offered her a role in a future venture of his. Nadia was more than happy to accept the offer.

Meera quizzed!

Meera was on the receiving end of the audience's ire during the recording of a TV show that included Akbar Khan, the director of the Indian film Taj Mahal - An Eternal Love Story. The famous TV talk show, Sach Yeh Hai discussed the screening of Indian films in Pakistan, with famous Lollywood people in attendance. But it wasn't Akbar Khan who was quizzed by the crowd; rather it was Meera who was the centre of criticism. Meera felt that her progress in Bollywood had irked the other Lollywood actresses and the audience took exception to her comment.

Celebrated couple

Naseeruddin Shah had a busy weekend in Pakistan while shooting for Shoaib Mansoor's Khuda Ke Liyay. The Indian actor was in Islamabad for awhile before flying to Karachi for a couple of days. Shah even staged a play in Lahore and attended a private party where he and wife Dina Pathak were the toast of the theatre circuit.

Sound of music

Ahmad Butt is advising Humeira Arshad on adapting certain songs to some scenes in the film Gunahon Ka Shehr. The husband-wife pair are working in the film together with Butt starring in the lead and Arshad singing the background score.

Weighty issues

Tabinda has become slimmer after observing a strict regimen to get fit for some of the more demanding roles she is set to do in the coming months. The actress set herself the regimen after she felt she had put on weight and was losing out to other actresses.
