I pray, dear Lord, You'll keep me strong
When times are tough, and things go wrong.
Help me to tightly grasp Your hand
When problems I don't understand
Send waves of doubt upon my soul,
And make me feel I've lost control.
Give me the faith to clearly see,
Through whirlwinds of adversity,
The One Who leads me day by day,
And helps me walk the narrow way.
Though others may abandon You,
I pray for courage to stay true.
Remove the terror ling'ring near,
And send me faith that conquers fear.
May every trial I must go through
Just draw me closer, Lord, to You.
And help my feet to never roam,
But follow as You lead me home.

To Measure Love
I measure love in moments spent with you,
dim candlelight, touch of your hand on mine,
delightful kisses soft as morning dew,
caresses tingling up and down my spine.
I measure love when out of my dire need
I reach for you in times of weariness.
You always find the time to gently lead
and walk beside me through my dark distress.
I measure love not by the words you say,
but by your soothing hand upon my head
when I am sick; the kind and thoughtful way
that you take charge and tuck the kids in bed.
My dearest spouse, your loving acts convey
by far much more than simple words could say.
