Usman Zulfiqar's Mein Mohabbat Aur Tum

It seems that this is going to be high time for the Lollywood as most of the tube directors are taking their steps forward to head towards the Lollywood. Lately it was Faheem Burney, Rauf Khalid and Asif Ali Pota who ventured into film making, while Asif Ali Pota failed, the other two still have to make their mark in the next month. Keeping this trend in mind, many other tube directors and producers are taking drastic steps towards Lollywood including Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, Humayun Saeed and Shoaib Mansoor.
This time of the year the duo Usman Zulfiqar who have been associated with the tube for so long and have given one of the best plays in the history of PTV including Bulandi and Sawan have finally announced their return to the Lollywood with their maiden venture Mein, Mohabbat Aur Tum. The film has been penned by Syed Wasi Shah, a notable young tube writer who has given hit plays like Aahan and Dharkan. Zahid Mian, another notable name who has given some very good plays to the tube including the latest one Dil Lagi, has produced it. It is interesting to note that both Mohammad Usman and Zulfiqar Ali have mainly been associated earlier on as the assistants of Late Nazr-ul-Islam who is called the gem of Lollywood. The both assisted a number of films with him and it was only after his death that they started working on tube. While talking to the Nation Plus Monday night, the duo told the reasons why they have decided to step into film making. 'we want to bring the families back to the cinema halls, there are a lot of factors behind our this attempt. But we want to give something for them, as it has been late since we gave some good family movie'.
When asked about the very factor that at the very moment when prominent tube directors like Asif Ali Pota and Samina Peerzada have failed to deliver some good flicks, how they would be coming up with something different, they told, 'Uptill the time something different is not made, we can't say that it will fair well. A director knows his job and he himself knows the very fact that whether his film has the potential or not. Making a hit or flop is not the question, it is whether you do justice with your film. We can say just one thing about the film that it will be a good effort, nothing more than that'.
At a time when most of the flicks that are made today boost of couple of crores that the producers have invested, most of the tube producers face problems when they come to invest such a big amount. Usman Zulfiqar told, 'we are coming up with a story. If the producer is alive then every one is alive. It is not necessary that you make a film with four crore and then deliver it to the masses. You can even make a good film in a single crore, we are not saying that our movie boost of Crores or not but it is a normal budget movie'.
Usman Zulfiqar who are looking for a totally new cast for the movie told that they are looking for totally new faces. 'Viewers have been fed up watching the same faces again and again. It is high time that new faces should come forward. If we want to improve the quality of our movies then educated people should come forward. Otherwise our industry can't improve'.
