If you live outside Pakistan, but you are of Pakistani origin, do you consider yourself Pakistani or a national of your country of residence?

Non-Pakistanis are welcome to participate.

Ok that is a fair argument about teaching next gens of our heritage...

Well, loyaltis are better tested in the times of conflict...Its quite dandy when things are going smooth to be loyal to both; but when you are put in a positio to make one and leave the other, who gets the preference? Us living in the west and our next generations are prepared to make those difficult choices?

Practically more than 90% of Asian (Indian / Pakistani) were migrate to US/EU for earning better resources and maintaining good life style, Old generation have already took decision to live and raise their children in these countries along with their all loyalties to their origin.

Old generation is living here and they also find it difficult (most of them) to go back to their “home countries” and set up a life again with their kids and family.

I know many people they tried very hard to build up their home in “Pakistan”. Furnish them, use to visit Pakistan quite often but end of the day they rented them or sell out.

What am I trying to say....? I think it’s getting hard day by day when u indulge in life of EU/US even u were not born in those countries but our new generation who were born in these countries, it would be hard for them to go back “Pakistan” and set up their life.

They might learn about their traditions, heritage and values. But if we expect to test their loyalty towards their “parents country” over the “country they were born” it’s quite difficult.

It was the decision of “old generation” to set up their life in these countries.... and now this is the consequence.

I think we should try hardest to teach our new generation how to keep balance between these two.

And luckily life in abroad always remind us.... we are “British Asian” or “Asian in America or EU”.

I agree with Ashii.
came to Holland when i was 4. But that doesn't make me Dutch. Still feel that i am Pakistani. But i have picked up the best things from both cultures. We all love Pakistan, lekin is baat se bhi ittefaak kareinge ke kuch humari culture (ya phir culture ka hissa bana di gayi hain) aisi baatein hain jo humain achi nahin lagti. So picked the best from both.
But only a passport doesn't make u Dutch, Pakistani, Britisch, French or whatever. It's the feeling u have and the connection with that country.

Aap tu dutch ho

Assal baat hai ke hum shaitaan ki tarah darmiyaan main latkey hain.
Pakistan jao to foreigner, idher ao to foreigner. To batao ab, hum kidher ke hue?
