The stunning nightingale of Lahore, Humeira Arshad, has acquired such fame that even European recording companies are noticing her. Recently, she signed a contract with a British recording channel to make music videos.
The good-looking crooner has had several offers to act in films, but she is determined to stay away from the movies. However, she has sung several songs for films, which have been well received. Good sales of her two albums in the last couple of years, have prompted Humeira to think of making more videos of her hit numbers. During a recent tour of America and the UK, several newspapers called her the nightingale of Pakistan. "They just loved my songs," she gushed last week.
"I had tremendously good shows, and I was fortunate to receive offers from British recording companies, one of which I have accepted. The music market for Pakistan is gradually expanding in the UK, and I found that many of our artistes are quite popular there."
