A new Internet worm has been discovered in the wild. It has been named W32/Zafi.B Worm. W32/Zafi.B worm is spreading rapidly via the Internet. W32/Zafi.B worm was discovered last weekend and we are receiving many reports of infection.
About the W32/Zafi.B Worm:
W32/Zafi.B is an email worm. All Windows Operating systems are susceptible to this worm. The worm spreads through email, shared network drives and KaZaA P2P software.
The worm arrives with a pre-defined subject and body chosen from a set maintained by the worm. The 'From' address of the infected email is spoofed.
The infected attachment has a file name picked from a pre-defined list. The extension of the infected attachment is .PIF .
