In fashion news this week: Raf Simons unveils limited edition sweater for The Woolmark Company, you can now customise your Fendi handbag
After collaborating with The Woolmark Company on his autumn/winter ‘17/’18 New York show, fashion designer Raf Simons has further marked the occasion by
creating a limited edition wool sweater featuring the words ‘I Love Tokyo’
sprawled across the front in Japanese text. Available exclusively at Ginza’s
Dover Street Market store in Tokyo from November 30, the sweater is made from
100 per cent Merino wool spun in Italy and calls on elements of the designer’s
autumn/winter ‘17/’18 ready-to-wear collection, combined with his love of
Japanese culture. “These limited-edition sweaters perfectly connect Raf Simons’
design aesthetic with his love for Tokyo, united by the world’s most luxurious
Merino wool,” says Stuart McCullough, The Woolmark Company managing director
You can now customise your Fendi - from the leather, hardware and iconic F logo to the silk twill wrappy and the straps of your Fendi Kan I bag - following
the Roman fashion house’s most recent collaboration with digital retailer,
Farfetch. A first for the brand, president and CEO Pietro Beccari explains the
decision to allow customisation comes from the understanding that it is “unique
opportunity to showcase our daring creativity and pioneer spirit in a new
digital and modern way, combining our client’s needs of luxurious exclusivity
with the Maison’s perfect blend of tradition and innovation.” Available
exclusively online at Farfect.com from November 29, customers will be able to
mix and match everything from the hue to their choice of embellishment – with up
to 120 possible combinations to choose from.
For the first time since the Australian brand’s inception in 2012, MacGrawwill be made available to customers in the Middle East both online and
in-store via global luxury retailer, Boutique 1. Everything from the brand’s
emblematic ruffled dresses to their ruched-sleeve shirts will hit the shelves of
the retailer’s carefully curated Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Lebanon stores alongside
brands including The Row, Elie Saab and Giambattista Valli. The move comes just
in time for the restock of two of MacGraw’s most lust-worthy, waitlisted pieces
– the Sloan and the Blue Swan Cathedral dress.
The Sydney suburb of Paddington is set to welcome modern Australian jewellery label, Sarah & Sebastian’s first brick-and-mortar store. Complete with
display cabinets that transition from clear glass to mirror and a custom built
jeweller’s bench, the duo collaborated with Mark Landini of Landini Associates
on the décor and design of the store with the aim that it transcends the
traditional retail space experience. Located on Oxford Street, you will be able
to shop both Sarah & Sebastian’s core collection and their specialty pieces
from November 30.
