nikama said:thnx, well,my story is that in late winters of 2003,a friend who had recently been married in muzafarabad and i decided to test our motorcycling skills and one fine day we left pindi for muzafarabad via murree on our honda 125.we reached muzafarabad without much problem, except that public transporters did their best to intimidate us by honking from behind and overtaking at all the wrong places, but my friend who was driving then was too good to get frightened.once in muzafarabad,we had our lunch in his in-laws home, had some chit chat with a couple of friends and got a bit late in the process.when we decided to leave for pindi,it was late afternoon and cloud were gathering over the skies,so our hosts tried their best to top us but it was sunday and we both had to go on jobs the next day so we left anyway.
i was driving the bike and we had hardly got out of muzafarabad,i think we were near basnaara when it started to rain,i asked the friend if he wanted to return but in true spirit of adventure,he said keep going,by the time we reached kohala,it was raining like hell, roads were swollowed up by water, all road side hotels near kohala pull had been closed, and i could hardly see anything out of my helmet, but he just insisted on going so we moved anyway, when we reached murree, electricity had gone there and it was still raining..rather pouring like hell, there he proposed we should find a nice hotel and stay for the night but then i voted against staying,so after a brief stay and some coffee with boiled eggs we resumed our journey,we were crossing sirat-ul-jannah when it started to hail also, and adding to our misery, stones were falling from the mountains just like the hails, one small pebble hit my helmet in such a velocity and it created such an impact that i thought i had been hit by a rock....road was hardly visible and at sharp turns i barely saved the bike from going down and if this was not enough,in the middle of our way,the bike refused to move, cars, vans were crossing us from both directions some ppl even cursing us for standing there near a dangerous curve,it was such an awfull experience....rain,winds,darkness,falling stones...it looked like that was going to be our last night, the friend was cursing the very moment when he said yes to me,so in total despair and frustration i kicked the bike one last time with all my might and vow it finally started and so did we.by the time we reached islamabad,we were shivering with cold and when we tried to get down from the bike at the hotel near toll plaza, our legs refused to sustain our weight.
it is one travelling adventure or misadventure i shall remember for the rest of my life
