Usually, technology is viewed from the angle of its impact on the societies, such as its relations with culture, its practical use, its relation with the economy, politics, etc. They're more of its manifests than its essence. They're of non-textual nature or predicated on non-texts. Attributing the characteristics of technology to the different facets of societies not only complicates the problem, ultimately causing endless interactions but in addition switch people's intentions away from technology's true nature.
