Somebody tell me how we think West is not falling? Come on, West's morally bankrupt, they have only accepted that low level life style and called it modern living. We desire that lowly stature for ourselves and allow ourselves to be decieved by that.

Their fore-fathers made sacrifice and upheld their morals. European Renisance overturned their state of affairs of dark ages. They rediscovered basics of their original greek / roman teachings ("Christianity"), its morals - courage, sacrifice, learning and teaching, hard work, honesty, and UNITY...

We are doing just the opposite. We reaped the fruit of our fore-fathers' hard work and establishment as was founded by our beloved Prophet (SAW).

Before they rediscovered their glory, they followed the trail of our fore-fathers because they were successful. They realized their shortfalls in morality and humanity when they found the key of Muslims success and glory for almost 10 centuries.

Selfishness alone causes fall of nations. It stems and breeds and grows stronger in grounds of hearts where seeds of belief diminish. When trust, reliance, dependence... upon Allah shifts to self or friends, partners, allies... when ones effort only to serve personal gain, benefit, earning... and heartless to others needs, shortcoming, poverty... -- Motivation to do something shifts from reward from Allah to reward from self.

West's heading that way also, worst than that, we follow them blindly.

Alcohol and sex are huqul-Ibad. Promotion of illicit sex, pronography ... are social ills, spread of which brings gross corruption and thus decay in social fabric. That's why Allah prescribed punishment for it in this life. There is no punishment for huqooqullah. Sharing partners with Allah is a major major sin but there isn't any punishment for it nor there is one for not praying or not fasting. This is where individuals are free to choose their religion, that matter will be decided in the hereafter. Societal ills and evils are condemned and punishment prescribed for perpetrators.

D. Lotta, you are right about justice. Justice and equality stems from high morals. Immorality encourages one to purge justice and to adopt unjust ways.

Usurping anybody's right is injustice. It is a gross injustice to checkout sisters and daoughters of others with eyes gazing all over them, it is their right that their dignity be protected from evil eyes and lustful gaze. It is injustice to demand and take bribes for the work we are already paid for with tax money. does it have anything to do with religion or minority? Daughters and girls of muslims and non-muslims and their dignity are equally respected in Islam. Money, property, honor and human rights of muslims and non-muslims are equally protected in islam. Those who don't care for the rights of their own brethren in religion would care for others!

One who's not motivated by the final accountability and reward is expected to go only lower on the standards of morality, including justice and equality.

alcohal and sex is in our society too..it;s just that itni open nahi hae kitni west mae hae... secondly i was saying k one of these 3 things have always been a main reason in downfall of a "qoom"...

So where'r the roots of these illnesses? We need to reach down there if we seriously mean business.

Why should people not consume alcohol, keep illicit realtionships and deceit, treachery, trason...? What's there to motivate people to refrain from these illnesses? Force, law, police and other oppressive measures can't curb the desire to do ill. It has to come from inside. When inside's clean, it will reflect on the outside as well. And that's only when there is an internal compuslion and motivation. That compulsion and motivation is called "Taqwa".
