Michael Jackson invited to visit Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Ruling Pakistan Muslim League (PML) leader Kanwar Kutubuddin has invited international celebrity pop singer Michael Jackson to visit Pakistan after his reported conversion to Islam.

The PML leader congratulated Jackson for embracing Islam and said his conversion was a good omen for the Muslim Ummah.

Many people are becoming Muslims in different parts of the world, Kutubuddin said during a chat with this reporter.

He said he would also invite converts like cricketing hero Mohammad Yousuf to the functions to be held in Michael Jackson’s honour if the singer accepted his invitation.

The PML leader said at a time when Muslims were being criticised by different elements at the international level, conversion of Jackson was a positive development.

He said Islam was the religion of peace and harmony and abhors violence and terrorism. He said negative campaign against Islam by certain countries was misplaced and reprehensible.
