Sanity On Parade

Awaken midnight menagerie,
oh creatures of darkness.
Lurking behind the shadowy trees,
plunged into madness.

As dreamstate beckons to dragon's lair,
within slumber they creep.
No resistence, fear overpowers,
for what we sow we reap.

In conjured up imagination,
dragons grotesque invade.
Moonlight encaptures beneath the veil,
sanity on parade.

These mighty demons, in battles lost,
to my soul they lay claim.
Empty from a hollowed existence,
only me left to blame.

Searching still for heavenly guidance,
give back my faith to cope.
Grant me courage to face the darkness,
I can win again, with hope.

Never more will shadows haunt me,
nor dragon's fire sear.
I feel the strength and power of love,
God Almighty is near.
