Indian stars plan Basant in Lahore

LAHORE: A host of Indian film stars plan to be in Lahore for Basant.

Writer and director PD Mehra and his wife Geeta Rani will be in Lahore as guests of a private television channel. Vocalist Sonidhi Chohan is scheduled to arrive in Lahore on February 12 for a Basant ball at the Royal Palm Country Club.

Prikshath Sani, son of former Indian hero Balraj Sani and an actor himself, will be here for Basant. He also plans to visit his native village of Sani, near Bheera, Rawalpindi, and his father’s alma matters, Gordon College in Rawalpindi and Government College in Lahore.

Indian actor and director Aditya Pancholi will be in Lahore on February 14 to meet with Pakistani actor Shaan. Mr Pancholi is directing a movie about two friends, one from India and one from Pakistan. Preity Zinta and Ajay Devgan have already been cast, while Mr Pancholi will also act in the film.

Singer Jagjit Singh is scheduled to arrive in Karachi on February 7, accompanied by comedian Shekhar Summan. They might visit Lahore for Basant, but that and a possible concert by Mr Singh have not been confirmed. —Staff Report
