Sweetest Marriage Proposals

readers share how their Mr. Rights made them offers they couldn't refuse!

"i knew my boyfriend loved me, but i also knew he had a hard time showing it. he's not the type to confess his undying devotion, but one morning, i found a note on the bathroom mirror that read, "good morning, beautiful." every place he knew i'd pass had notes-my closet door, the refrigerator, front door-that ranged from telling me my smile lit up his day to saying that just looking at me set his body on fire. the last note-on my windshield-read, "would you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?" i called in sick, and we spent the entire day together"

"i invited my longtime boyfriend, who's a pilot, to come and speak to my second-grade class. i sat down to watch the presentation and i noticed the entire front row of children had large flash cards face down on their desks. all of a sudden, my boyfriend said, "hit it!" and one by one. they flipped up WILL...YOU...MARRY...ME...? of course, i said yes!"

"bill and i had both been having a hectic time at work, so it was no surprise when he suggested we go away for weekend. he chose a romantic bed and breakfast on a lake. our first night there, we decided to sit on the dock; it was a beautiful, balmy night, but bill asked me to get a blanket just in case it became chilly later. when i got back, the scene before me took my breath away. there were candles glowing all over the dock and a bottle of champagne on ice. bill took my hand, got down on one knee, and propsed. he continues to surprise me in the most wonderful ways".
