After all the hype one is some what disapointed by reading the reviews of Veer-Zaara. Its has shades of the Pakistani film Tere Pyar Main.

Aitraaz on the other looks interesting.

Posted on 11/12/2004 10:44:35 PM

yea man it was hyped up too much...n damn its too long 3 hours n 12 mins...lol that's y i'm not goin to it...cuz imma go when i have nothing to do for 3 hours...

Posted on 11/12/2004 11:03:59 PM

omg! i have never ever been sooooooo disappointed in my life! this movie seriously sucks!!!!! don't waste ur money or time on it!!! and to think they made us pay 8 bucks a ticket for the stinking movie.

my mom made me go w/her last night after we went to ppl's houses for eid, and we were soooooooooooo bored!!!! i warned her not to go, but she made me and my sis go anyways.

srk's great, but the movie sux! we were sitting there laughing the whole entire time cuz it was soooooo boring. we were seriously making fun of em all cuz it was that boring.

and there was this 1 dude sitting in the back who kept on screaming these really weird things in the fobbiest accent ever! and every1, including us, was complaining abt when the stinking movie is gonna finish!

so, don't waste ur $ or time on a sorry movie like this!

Veer-Zaara: Been there, seen that
TEENA MALIK

They said it was the biggest movie of the year, so I went for it. They said it was vintage Yash Chopra after six years, so I went for it. Now, after having wasted three and half hours of a well-deserved holiday, all I can see is red. icon_biggrin.gif

Why am I upset? Because I feel cheated. There was nothing new in movie, and literally.

Sample this - SRK is sitting with Kiron Kher's hand - as in holding her hand - and says something like, I haven't come here to take your daughter away without your will, blah blah.

Suddenly a bell starts clanging in my head - haven't I heard SRK saying the same thing, in the same way to Farida Jalal for Kajol in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge ?

The movie opens with a wide angle shot of sarson ke khet , and lush green forests and silver waterfalls - very pretty I agree - but I have seen that before in Silsila . icon_razz.gif

Even Preity's outfits were oh-so-familiar. Remember Madhuri Nene nee Dixit and her salwar-kameezes in Dil To Pagal Hai ? icon_razz.gif

Should we go on? Why is it that in most of Yashji's movies, the hero-heroine realise they love each other (usually the heroine) once they have parted ways?

We had Kajol realising her pyar for SRK and imagining the entire gaana ( Ho gaya hai tujhko to pyar ) in DDLJ. Similarly, Veer-Zaara has Preity imagining SRK sing Main yahan .

If that's not enough, the heroine's father in Chopra films is always the strictest of strict while the hero's father is always gung-ho. icon_razz.gif If Anupam Kher is all for his son claiming the bride, it's no different with Amitabh Bachchan in this.

We could go on, but reliving the movie is horrifying. Dear Yashji, you have made some love stories to remember.

But Veer-Zaara is no legend. If I have to see snatches of your earlier movies, I'd much rather see the originals than sit through 210 minutes of deja vu

Posted on 11/16/2004 6:18:42 AM

ewww, mohabatein was realllyyyyyyyy sorry too!

i hated both of em!

but, rani and srk were great in the movie, that's all it's worth!

Posted on 11/16/2004 7:06:37 AM

oops. posted pix in the wrong place!

Posted on 11/16/2004 7:21:27 AM

ouch!

a friend @ work is tellin' me i gotta see this movie...after readin' this, i'll let her know she can 4get it. lol

Posted on 11/16/2004 10:01:20 AM

n ppl like me who are TRUE SRK FANS, let me clear my point, if the movie sucks don't mean its SRK's fault...his acting was great, the way he acted when he was old/young...no one could've done that role better then him...n no its not anti-pakistan either...
but its jus that the story was nothing new...same old direction same old scenes...too many songs...

Posted on 11/16/2004 10:01:38 AM

well the movie didn't sucked at all it might be ur own opinion but i have watched thrice and i loved it although still we dont have the full version of it but i love it not only cuz of shahrukh but cuz of different story line gr8 screen play an awesome direcion

Posted on 11/16/2004 4:58:50 PM

seriously, it wishes to be ddlj! it's incomparable to ddlj!

preity is horrible, she talks like a man thruout the whole stupid movie! and it's like she's reading her script off the camera.

it's times like these that i really miss kajol!

i mean, it was sooo bad, that we were actually about to go and sneak into aitraaz
