I Miss

I miss the Nothingness of our friendship,

Before things got complicated with the word "love."

I miss when nothing was expected and all was given.

But now, high hopes are crushed my low realities.

There were so many things I did not say
When I looked into your eyes
The things I think about each day

We have known each other for quite some time
And we're recently good friends

We were a couple for awhile
But we know that never really lasts

About the things you feel
Then maybe someday I'll understand

I've often wondered what it would be like

But now I am gone and I'll never know
How wonderful it would be
To have the sweetest love
That you would share with me

So many things I think about
You probably never knew
A lot of many unsaid things
That I have never told you.

The first time I saw you,
I knew you were the one.
There was no question in my mind,
after having that much fun.

There's just something about you,
that I've never found before.
And now that we're good friends,
I find myself wanting more.

I never thought it possible,
to care for one so much.
But everyday that passes,
I long to feel your touch.

To look into your eyes,
would make my day complete,
cause every time you look at me,
my heart just skips a beat.

Everything I'd wished for,
every dream I'd hope come true,
I never thought would happen,
until the day that I met you.

I know that your not ready,
for the kind of commitment that I am,
but for you I'd wait forever,
there's nothing I can't stand.

Although it hurts to know,
that you don't feel the same as me,

Snow Cone Lips
Snow cone lips are cold to kiss.
A strange contrast,
Cold kissing lips,
To usual warm ones.
Snow cone lips are numb,
And offer a rainbow smile.
Red and blue and green,
Like the swirled dome atop the cone.
Snow cone lips are fun to kiss.
They tickle your cheek like a cold whisper.
Or they melt in your mouth,
With growing warmth.

That Day
That day with you shimmered, a laughing daydream.

Childhood Friendship Poem
We played cowboys and Indians, batman and robin
Or speed-racer in the streets of our youth
We sailed on cloudy ships through the sky of dreams
Fancied ourselves pirates
We dug tunnels in my back yard,
Ran through fields of corn,
And swam in muddy Kentucky water.
We suffered sunburns, bee-stings, and lectures from almighty mom.
And now, when all is said and done,
After 30 years have come and gone
I wonder, are we anything more than this?
More than childhood friends?
Are we more than hopeful dreamers, schemers;
More than actors on a stage?
The world is a bigger place now, a new playground.

How do you say good bye to someone you love?

Saying goodbye is difficult, but goodbye poems help ease our pain. They bring finality, completion. Sad love poems and goodbye poems help us express what we need, to see a ralationship through to a peaceful end.
