Lollywood actor and writer Raja Riaz, who shot to fame by playing the role of a Sikh in blockbuster 'Teray Piyar Mein' which he also wrote, is busy these days with the pre-production of film 'Dil Se Dil Tak'. This movie also marks his debut as a director. He plans to shoot this film in Afghanistan.
The launching of film 'Dil Se Dil Tak' was held in Lahore on March 10. Departing from the tradition of such events, Raja asked his mother to perform the launching ceremony. Seasoned music director Ali Afzal is these days busy in composing the music for Dil Se Dil Tak's songs. Four songs have been completed. Lyrics of three songs have been written by Riazur Rehman Sagar while Zafar Seemab has written one song. London-based Raja Tariq is producer of the film. Raja Riaz while talking to The Nation Plus on Sunday revealed that he plans to shoot 50 per cent of the film in Afghanistan. "Raja Tariq is arriving in a couple of days to finalise the locations. We would be filming some songs in the visually good locations of northern areas. Some scenes would be shot in Lahore. We are in the process of requesting the Afghan government for permission to shoot the film. Hopefully we would get the permission and complete legal formalities by the end of June. A lot of arrangements have to be made before we jump to filming. We plan to start the shooting in July."
"The film is not about the situation in Afghanistan. It is a love story in the backdrop of the Afghan civil war when Taliban ruled most of the country. Our emphasis is on the story that is how love shines and wins in the most difficult circumstances.
The heroine is a voluntary doctor who gets entrapped in a situation in Afghanistan. It is a love story but there would also be a number of action scenes in this flick. There would be no forced insertion of songs. All the songs will be situational," he said.
About the cast Raja said that it would be announced it in a ceremony next month. "Both the male and female lead roles would be filled in by newcomers.
The supporting cast would be of experienced artistes. People appreciate good performance by new actors, who are able to give more time and attention to the project. The film industry is passing through a difficult phase. People are no longer interested in seeing the same old faces. Fresh faces may appeal to them," he said.
A talented director enters Lollywood. Its a big project and all the best to him.
