does a husband HAVE to lightly beat his wife when she dishonours him (offcourse after several warnings)...

OR...

can a husband just keep on giving her warnings after warnings after warning and not beat her?

that's why I am saying, Islam only permits to hit with something that doesn't hurt the body but enough to get them to know your extreme displeasure. This type of hitting (not to be misunderstood as repeated hitting) can not be categorized as beating or abuse.
