Very true comments.   Epoxy needs to be installed properly with good prep by grinding the surface.  Epoxy flooring is good or bad based on the prep.  Also, epoxy should never be used as a top coat in a garage or outdoor surface because it will yellow or peel off from the chemicals and temperature of the car tires, known as hot tire pick up.  Most professionals will use polyaspartic for the top coat on flake floors or urethane on a metallic epoxy floor.

Not all epoxy garage flooring is created equal.  Look at Rustoluem.  It's a 44% solids water based epoxy.  They only recommend one coat.  Plus, the recommended prep is only by chemical etching.  No professional installer is going to use that.  Concrete should be grinded for prep.  Epoxy garage flooring should be done by a professional with the proper equipment and knowledge.

Any suggestions for niche-specific posts or backlink sources for an epoxy floor contractor?

Great idea.  I'm always looking for articles or research on epoxy floors or garage floor coatings in general.

I know many of these composites had UV issues when they first came out.  A few US companies started wrapping the board with a more durable coating about an 1/16" thick with an embossed grain.  It improves longevity and protects against fading, but it also can be slick especially when wet.  Has the product coming from other Asian suppliers improved over the years to address these issues?   I was thinking of actually coating my wood deck with the same coatings that we use for garage floor coatings to get a lifetime surface on the wood.  Epoxy floor coatings would not be good for outdoor use, but polyurea would.
