Indignant, the affluent man replied, "You can't do this-I'm an MNA, Member of the National Assembly!"

"In that case," replied the robber, "give me my money!"

Hats off to the game watcher who daringly apprehended Imran Khan and his companions for illegally hunting partridges in Chakwal. The 'Mighty Khan' who has long claimed to champion the cause of the poor, once again committed a petty crime and made good his escape. How many Sita Whites need surface or partridges need be slaughtered before he is brought to book?

Journalist Elizabeth Grice, writing in a British newspaper says of "poor" Benazir that she "recently tried to buy a beautiful house in Osterley,
west London, with 'lots of bedrooms' for her family, but was gazumped,
so she is temporarily renting a place in Queens' Gate, Kensington, near her
sister Sanam". Grice goes on to say that BB's children "are being educated
privately at a day school and are left in the care of a nanny during their

A prominent Faisalabadi business family recently celebrated a
wedding. They invited the artiste Mohammad Ali Shaiki and Co to sing at the occasion. Mr Shaiki was an honoured guest of the family and the hosts were solicitous to a fault. They were forever fussing over Mr Shaiki, "Mohammad Ali bhai this", "Mohammad Ali bhai that".
After a couple of days of this politeness, Mohammad Ali Shaiki was just rousing himself from a good night's sleep when he heard the host calling out to his cook,

"Oye Bholay! Ohna kanjaraan noo nashta ditta ee?" Caught off-guard, the host was his normal, irreverent self. Mr Shaiki took it all in good humour.                                                                     (FT)

Senator Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal, the son of Allama Iqbal says that once people lost their power of endurance they would descend to the life of the jungle. He said if Articles 62 and 63 were properly enforced only 10 people in the parliament would be able to save their seats on the basis of Islamic ideology.

Former Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah has locked horns with the Estate Office Karachi and the Ministry of Housing and Works over unauthorised occupation of official residence in Bath Island Karachi by the former Chief Justice.
The posh bungalow situated in prime location is worth several thousand in rent value and the former Chief Justice is illegally occupying it without payment of any rent at all. Justice Shah had to vacate the bungalow on 15 April, 1998 but refused to abide by the law.
Official communications by the Estate Office have since been ignored by him while the new allottee of the bungalow is pressing the Estate Office and the Ministry of Housing and Works to get the house vacated as per law, sources said.
The sources regretted that the former Chief Justice is committing an unlawful act illegally occupying the government house. The house has been allotted to Collector Customs.

A man parks his car in front of the main entrance of the Parliament House. Immediately, a member of the security team goes after him yelling:
Sir! Sir! You cannot park in here! All the Assembly members are about to go out!

The man replies:
Don't worry. I have a good alarm in my car.
