Soldiers Sacrifice
-----------------------
To heads held high in valor stand,
bravery in far distant land,
Never-ending pride filled hearts,
twenty one gun salute to start.
To honor those fallen this day,
so gently as the wreath we lay.
A tattered flag from years gone by,
tear in the corner of your eye.
Reflections of an unknown tomb,
soldiers who died , much too soon.
Flag draped coffin at the grave,
parades pass by, salute and wave.
This day given as recompense,
their countries call in remembrance
To hear the lonely bugle play,
taps for soldiers passed away.
Old Glory wave upon their rest,
beneath the earth, our brave, our best.
Where angel fly and eagles sore,
still many knocking on God's door.
