yes. Anita Ayub said that pakistani guys are very conservative and narrowminded(which a lot are). I kinda agree with her but she also said that there is NO physical beauty in India especially if compared with India. ALl the celebrities look good only with special lighting and makeup. LOL

I think pakistani girls are much better looking. Sure, give them makeup, hairstylists, proper clothes and they would outshine all bollywood stars.
A lot of indians come up to me every single day with awe saying "all pakistanis i see are so pretty" and believe me its true.

talking about human rights in "lollywood/bollywood actress" forum is not "debating whatever the agenda on that particular forum is."

well, if the director calls herself pakistani then she is pakistani no matter where she lives.
SpringStripper should be banned. He's been trying very hard to start fights here.

And if india is soo good, why dont you go to indian forums to say that, why are you hell bent on annoying us.

yeah, india is a great society.
just last month a nine year old girl got married to a dog.
How progressive!

secondly, the budget of a movie doesn't matter. What matters is if the story is good and the production is handled well.
Gadar was a stupid movie. THe stupid dialogue, i still remember it:
"mein seva karnay ko teyar hoon. or mein eik do thappar bhe kha loon gi"(i am willing to serve you and i am willing to get slaps from you)LOLOLOLOLOL
A stupid person who beats up the whole pakistani army by himself.
A rich pakistani muslim girl who gets married to a stupid poor and best of all SIKH guy. I am sorry, i'd rather die than do that.
a lavish mega starrer?? who cares? right now the pakistani movie starring kiron kher won awards at the locarno festival. It wasn't a megastarrer, nor was it a big budget movie. what it did was make sense, which not a lot of bollywood movies do.

PS springstepper why dont you stick to the bollywood section.

You guys dont understand that this is the elite in pakistan. the kind that goes abroad every summer to spend huge amounts of money on designer clothes. they are probably only .001% of the population of the whole country. Who cares what they wear.
I am pretty sure that 99.9% of the country wouldn't dream of wearing such clothes.
and btw, who are we to comment on what someone wears.

Aishwarya Rai refutes media reports of her visit to Pakistan

Mumbai,Wednesday, August 20, 2003:    Leading Bollywood actress, Aishwarya Rai, today refuted media reports of her secret visit to Pakistan, terming them as "false and baseless."

"A ridiculously baseless note, claiming me to be in Pakistan, at politician's/diplomat's/house on a break for three days--is one big figment of someone's wild, almost suspect imagination," the actress, who was shooting for a film in London, said in a statement, forwarded by Subrota Roy Sahara, Chairman of Sahara India Pariwar to the media.
"Why would such a claim be made, of someone like me (dare I say a fairly renowned recognizable face) when I am obviously shooting in another country--in London. I haven't been to Pakistan ever," the actress, who is currently shooting for Bride and Prejudice, added.
"This time they have gone too far and crossed all limits of decency with such ugly insinuations. This is serious--and if ignored, could then encourage many more such probabilities, which is absolutely not acceptable," she said.
"The media has no right to go ahead and print some speculation of such serious insinuations/attack/question the dignity and self respect of a lady... with political innuendos...A wrong suggestion by the media today, if ignored, could take the shape of some other worse situation tomorrow--and the media cannot and must not be so irresponsible towards their national personalities," she said.

people...why does she make it sound as if its a bad thing to have been in pakistan??? its only a rumor. she's a star, she should be used to such things. i'm sure she's heard worse. she calls the rumor an 'ugly insinuation.' what does that mean? that its bad (being an indian) to be associated with pakistan?? how come its okay for adnan sami, nusrat fateh ali khan, and many more to go to india yet its not okay for miss ashwariya to be RUMORED to have been in pakistan???!! she could have said, she plans/hopes to someday come to pakistan and what not, but instead she chose to react like its blasphamy to be even associated with pakistan. i might be wrong, but thats the way she's come off in this statement. and if thats the case....her stock has dropped in my eyes.

i think she was reacting about the staying at the politician's house thing. not the pakistan issue.

Heres an article from the HOT SPOT ONLINE http://www.thehotspotonline.com/
IF you want to read it at the website just go down click on lollywood and then click on Copycats Inc.

It's a well established fact that a high proportion of Lollywood films are simply regurG**ated, cheap versions of their Bollywood counterparts. Almost every second Lollywood film can be instantly recognized as a rehash of some recent Bollywood epic but it might come as a bit of a surprise to find that once in a while, big brother Bollywood also finds the easy way out by pilfering a plot or two from its poor cousin here in Lollywood. Following is a comprehensive list of the Bollywood films and their Lollywood inspiration. The following list covers films up until 1996 or so and will not contain titles like Gadar and Tere Pyar Main.

It has come to our attention that this particular "list" has generated a lot of heated discussion and mud slinging from both Lollywood and Bollywood supporters with people claiming the list to be totally false, a hoax aimed at discrediting Bollywood. Some people ought to try to confront what are clearly rather obvious facts and stop the inane almost childish denial. FACT: copying goes back and forth from Bollywood to Lollywood (most of the time) but occaisionally a hit Lollywood formula (and more commonly, songs) are borrowed by Bollywood as well - WHAT is the big deal? Anyway for the futile idiocy of providing even one example, please recall the famous hit song from FIZA which was a note for note and almost word for word copy of Shazia Manzoor's Lollywood smash.........and lets face it this won't be the only examples by many a mile. However at the same time it has to be accepted that something that is successful is what is copied...whether it be a movie, a song, or even an ice cream shop! And Lollywood fanatics ought to realize that no Lollywood film in the forthcoming future (century) is about to break into the US and UK Box Office top ten lists...what point does denial serve? Alas just when one was hailing Sandeep Chowta as musical maestros, it transpires that their gorgeious Kambakht Ishq tune is also completely lifted, note for note from an african track that appears on the Afro-Celt series of CD's. Bollywood or Lollywood......they're all a bunch of copycats!

The other fact is that Bollywood freely and whole heartedly borrows from Hollywood....more so than ever, while Lollywood borrows from Bollywood in huge quantities.....but those who pretend that it simply cannot be that Bollywood would stoop so "low" as to copy from Lollywood every once in a while are very clearly deluding themselves. Success is always copied, doesn't matter where it originated.

Why the need to degenerate any normal discussion into a pathetic mud slinging match which only shows how petty we ALL can be sometimes? Surely life is already far too short to have so much energy and time for so much hatred?

This is a rumour.
ANother article about this:

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/cms.dll/xml/uncomp/articleshow?msid=137902

MUMBAI: All of last week the world was agog with stories of Islamabad witnessing an overwhelming heat wave. And it wasn’t the effect of any natural global warming. The heat was generated by a news agency report that our gorgeous cat-eyed Bollywood beauty, Aishwarya Rai, had made a clandestine visit to Islamabad for a quick getaway from her backbreaking London shooting schedule. Obviously the lovely lass still wasn’t quite in a mood to appease her huge Pakistani fan following, because she has followed up the reports with total denial.

Ash seemed to be utterly surprised at these reports and was ready with her version of the story, of having never visited the neighbouring country. In a statement denying the news that appeared in a Pakistan daily, The News, Aishwarya clarified, “I am completely flabbergasted at these stories. I have never visited Pakistan. And it is not on my agenda in the near future simply because of my shooting schedule. Come on, any Indian celebrity visiting Pakistan would be such a great PR exercise for both the nations that it would be splashed all over. It is simply not true. Of course, sometime in the future I would love to visit Pakistan as an ambassador of goodwill for India. Why not?”
Aishwarya’s mother, Vrinda Rai, who recently penned the story for their home production, Dil Ka Rishta added emphatically, “If Aishwarya would have gone to Pakistan, wouldn’t there have been a media splash? There’s not a single picture anywhere that substantiates her visit. She’s been in London all this while shooting for Bride and Prejudice at breakneck speed. Director Gurinder Chadha wouldn’t let Ash leave the shoot and fly off for a vacation. It is all untrue.”
So there rests the ‘beauty-diplomacy’ theory. Maybe when all else fails, then India can cash in on Ash and those ‘disarming’ good looks.

I dont think Nisha resembles Ash but I think Nisha's 100X more beautiful. Ashwaria is more famous but i seriously dont get what is so pretty about her. Wow. an indian with green eyes. Big Deal!

yes that is why even the producers admit to copying hollywood movies scene to scene example. the bhatt family

The only reason i watch indian movies is for their songs. And many times the songs are copied from pakistani songs.
The song "Yeh Pyar Hai Ek Nasha Zindagi Ka" with Malaika Arora from the movie Indian is a ripoff of an old Shakira song.
The song "Deewana Tera Hai" from the movie Koi Meray Dil Say Poochay with Aftab and Esha is a ripoff from an old violin tune.
Last week, i was watching an irani tv show showing old songs and there was this song and i was like. "That sounds like some indian song." I cant remember it right now but that proves that indians copy iranians too.
This other song "Meri Chamak Chalo Man Bhi Ja" with Govinda and Urmila is a ripoff of a spanish song.
There's a pakistani song Abrar Ul Haq sang called Billo Day Ghar and it was copied by bollywood in a sunny deol movie and they changed it to Kamo Day Ghar.
Bohay Barian sung by Hadiqa Kiani was copied in two songs i cant remember right now.
These are the ones i can remember right now. SO much for originality.
Right now Adnan Sami is the toast of bollywood and he is a Pakistani.

A good indian music director is A.R.Rehman. All his songs are great. THe songs in Devdas were good too.
