some chick called reema and singer sajjad ali , and u know what they sang- dil dil pakistan, jaan jaan hindustan. this was on zee tvs antakshari. whole world saw em makin an ass of emselves. if u thinkthis is a lie i ll quote an article.
Branded anti-Pak, actress thumbs her nose
KAMAL SIDDIQI

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LAHORE, FEB 22

Sued for "degrading the name of Pakistan" just because she appeared in an Indian television show, Reema, the reigning queen of Lollywood, Lahore's film industry, says she has "no regrets whatsoever".

Her appearance in an Indian TV show in 1998 in which she advocated better relations between India and Pakistan, along with other film and TV stars of the two countries, provoked a fellow Pakistani into taking her to court and charging her with "anti-state activities".

Twenty-two-year-old Reema is considered to be one of the hottest stars here although unlike Bollywood, there aren't many challengers in the wings. Speaking to The Indian Express at her Lahore home, she says: "I know everybody is after Reema but this is not the way to unseat me."

The programme, which was aired on an Indian satellite television channel, is widely watched in Pakistan. Reema, along with two other Pakistani stars, TV personality Atiqa Odho and Sajjad Ali, a popular singer, appeared in the programme which caused some controversy at home since Reema was accused of singing Dil Dil Pakistan, Jan Jan Hindustan.

Despite denials, a committee of the Parliament was set up to look into the incident and a case was initiated against Reema, in her hometown. "There is basically no case. There is nothing that they can go on," said Reema dismissively, when asked whether she is upset over the implications of a legal battle over her appearance.

But Reema said that the case has been made out by the "gutter press" since she had quarreled with them over their "cheap reporting". When asked whether she would again appear on an Indian TV programme, Reema said: "Of course, I will. I am a Pathan girl and am not cowed down when I know I have done nothing wrong."

Reema said that the purpose of her appearing on an Indian TV channel was to dispel the impression that Pakistani film actresses were all uneducated and unpresentable. She said that she would continue to work for the upgradation of the image of Pakistani filmstars, since there was an serious imageproblem. "Not only do we make bad movies. We also give bad vibes," she said.

Currently, Reema is shooting for two films, Khuda Qasam and Uff Yeh Biwian. The controversy surrounding Reema's appearance has made the Pakistani showbiz world sit up and take notice.

Ghazal queen Iqbal Bano said that while it may be right to pursue those Pakistanis who gave the country a bad name abroad, in Reema's case "no damage has been done". Bano said that the artistes were the best ambassadors of goodwill that a country had, and "Reema is no exception".
nfak - love the way u pakistanis make an ass of urselves on our national television.hahahahahahha

well few incidents dont change the fact that honor killings are still the order of the day in ur society where a man and woman cant even have a relationship. imagine fathers killing their own daughters. u r still livin in stone ages my friend. sex is a taboo, theres no freedom. i dont even wanna discuss this any more cause ur ideologies are in clash with the whole world rite now.

i think ur just being beligerant nfak, i m not denying pakistan the talent it breeds - no way, i love the music , the bands BUT i m debating the society as a whole. the reason why hi profile artists would come to india for makin a livin and applying for indian citizenship , and that also when u consider it ur arch enemy says volume about the place u call home. lol by the way my friend , adnan sami initially never claimed he was a pakistani when he got there . he said he was british or something. i say he s not even proud of being a pakistani and that s why he denounced it. but nfak as far as u r concerned - i just wish u all the luck with ur delusions.

time to face reality- tere pyar mein was a low budgeted, deprived movie. compare that to gadar which was a lavish mega starrer. if personal feelings be detatched gadar was a far superior movie than tere pyaar mein. i have many sikh friends and when i told em about the movie ' ladki punjabaan ' they just smirked at teh fact that no indian girl would ever marry a pakistani guy and go to a regressive deprived place like pakistan where women are treated like shit . their argument is that india rocks as a place and so does the indian new generation and which girl in a right frame of mind would chuck allthe glamour and perks of a place like india and go to an uneventful place like pakistan. insulting but true

well the songs ur talkin about are old folk songs that voids teh copyright issue. nusrat fateh ali khan spent more time in india than in any other country. lol this is cause that place knows how to treat artists and pay em big bucks. when nobody knew if nusrat existed he was singing qawaalis at indian film stars weddings. lol . by the way - is there any 'mtv' in pakistan. [:D]

well the director was coaxed to delete those dialogues outta the movie, cause following suit no actor is accepting movies that bad mouth pakistan. it s a mjor policy shift for bollywood and it s commendable never the less. bollywood is revered in most parts of teh world and the only repercussion these kinda 'stunts' entail is losing out on a huge fan base amongst the pakistanis and other muslim countries. keep it up akshay! we love ya
