Celina Jaitley: A beautiful 'cause'!
Well, it's not about just being beautiful, it's also about justifying the title of 'beauty queen'. And our actresses are not just pretty women flaunting their beauty, bodies and bounty of talent. In the middle of all that, there's a big, benevolent heart beating, too. Celina Jaitley could have made empty promises standing at the pageant podium years ago - like most of the other gals who went through that grind she, too, carried her glamour crown into tinselville. Yet, for this lady, there's life beyond the arc lights and movie studios - a life that is deeply meaningful: Celina has been campaigning for a good cause, for an organisation that fights Alzheimer's disease. She tells us, "Work goes on, but if there's a will, you'll always find the way and the time to reach out to the world around you. I don't want to be just another pretty face, you know!" WHEN FORMER beauty queen and budding actress Celina Jaitley says, of all people, Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi is her idol, you blink. Not because, Gandhiji should not be anybody's icon but as it somehow does not gel, is not it? Plain living, high thinking Gandhian ideology and here is this high flying, former Miss India-turned-actress often spotted on small screen these days dancing away wildly in skimpy outfits on beach side. But, please take her seriously for she has even painted the great man recently as a tribute. Revealing this rather unknown side of her was Celina at Channel V's Goddess Special programme early this week.

Well then, how is she celebrating this Gandhi Jayanti? But of course, the gorgeous face with a beautiful smile has no time to let herself switch off from work. By the way, she is reportedly just back from a shoot abroad.

Mother’s day out

It has been just over a month since Karisma Kapur had her baby, but clearly she isn’t on complete house arrest because of the little one.

Husband Sunjay and she were at Olive for lunch this weekend, not surprisingly, minus their pretty tot Samaira. While Karisma has yet to shed post-pregnancy pounds (I’m still carrying them around after eight months!), motherhood has her glowing.

We can’t help but wonder how long Mumbai will have the privilege of playing host to this now Delhi-based actress… Daddy Sunjay is obviously doing a lot of travelling to be with his girls!

Usually when stars come to Delhi to shoot their films it is a very hush-hush trip. But then when producer Sohail Khan and Rising Star Entertainment’s first film together Fight Club was being shot in Ansal Plaza, it created a lot of waves. Fight Club marks the directorial debut of Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s nephew Vikram Chopra.Fight Club revolves around two fighting clubs and has a big brigade of actors starring in it. While one gang comprises of action kings like Suniel Shetty, Ashmit Patel, Yash and Rahul Dev, the other gang has Sohail Khan, Dino Morea, Zayed Khan, Ritesh Deshmukh and Ashish Chowdhury. For the oomph factor Dia Mirza, Amrita Arora and Neha Dhupia will be seen setting the screen ablze.

The scene that was recently shot at Ansal Plaza Delhi had Neha Dhupia, Sohail Khan and Ashish Chowdhury in it. Sohail Khan has written the story and co-written the script with director Vikram. Co-produced by Ravi Walia, Christ Andrewgen from Australia has teamed up with Yuva’s action director Vikram Dharma to provide the action.

The teasers of Khalid Mohamed's 'Silsiley' are expected to start this April 24th. Venus holds the music rights. The film is scheduled to release on June 3rd or after. Produced by Vashu Bhagnani, the multi-starrer is about love, lies and betrayal.

Apparently, your role in No Entry is no longer what was narrated to you and the other heroines in the film—Bipasha Basu and Lara Dutta—are now being given more prominence. Are you disappointed?
This is absolute rubbish! I have started dubbing for the film and my role is exactly what was narrated to me. All of us have been given equal footage and importance in the film and I am really happy with the way my role has shaped up. The film is a laugh riot and everyone is very good in it. I had a great time shooting for it with Bipasha, Lara and Esha Deol because we got along really well. In fact, we are still in touch and meet whenever we can.

There’s something about Sussanne
Told you some time ago that Sussanne Khan, Hrithik Roshan’s biwi, is the best hostess in town. What we didn’t add is that Sussanne apparently has the memory of an elephant. She never misses a friend’s birthday and makes sure the card, flowers and cake reach her good friends on the dot of 12 on B-day.

We also hear from Lara Dutta, Celina Jaitley and Esha Deol that when they travel with the Roshans—for shootings or shows—Duggu and Sussanne personally supervise the boarding, lodging and travel arrangements. Last month we told you Celina Jaitley was dating Hollywood actor John Cusack’s brother. Well, the actress doesn’t admit to dating Bill Cusack, but she does admit she met him while they were on a tour of the US. One also hears that a few weeks ago Bill sent Celina a parcel of GI Joe toys. Celina is so thrilled she carries the gun-toting Joe with her wherever she travels.

Did you know Lara Dutta and Celina Jaitley have already made their Hollywood debut? No kidding. When the two actresses entered a designer store on New York’s Fifth Avenue, clutching half a dozen bags, they suddenly found themselves part of a crowd scene. Singing superstar Beyonce Knowles and comedian Steve Martin were filming in the store and just when Lara and Celina walked in, everyone around was asked to freeze while the camera whirred. That’s how apna girls inadvertently became a part of the crowd scene in a Hollywood flick. It will be the latest in The Pink Panther series, so watch out for that one.
