no offence the Uk is covered by the Human rights act but i am not that sure from an USA legal point of view

when a dissmissal is given their is a process, your friends dad should ask for a written account of why he has been dissmissed, if they refuse or when you get the letter

take it to a Legal rep, let them take a look and revinews of challanging it,

i know exactly what you mean when you say a person can lose their job due to their Ethnicity.

thankfully the uk is up to date with its Laws its just about enforcing them

lemmie do a little research i will get back to you
