well the sales are doing extrodanary considering KTSK has only sold around 2000 and PPP is priced much higer then normal. A typical pakistan filmi audio tape is RS 30 and Indian is 35 and ppp are selling it at 40, and PPP is still not released as yet and no mega publicity campaign just regulalr small advertising, and its really mega considering YDAKH has the highest sales for a lollywood film at 300,000 and it looks like PPP will cross it.

wat eva u say YOYO saab ur a bit too arached to LUCMAN saab and others.. by Un Professional i mean is that nothoing goes oin time in lollywood everything is just late! which is the biggest peoblem in lolly! but the biggest of all is that all of them are competing eachither no one is doing it for pakistan lollywood just to show who is the bst and tey are doing that by competing i dont see anything pakistani in our films specially the new ones, everysingnle new film that is comming out of lollywood is that we have singers from acroos the country which include, alka, udit, sherya etc etc... the only reson they are doing that is to compete with eacjhither. if they really care about pakistan film industry give our new talent a try rather then waving their tails at other industry!!!!!
well nothing can go on time with the infranstruchure available in lollywood, dont forget lollywood isnt bollywood or hollywood, we do not have the facilities thye have.
and yes they are competing against each other and competition is always good, and for the revival of the industry, competion is the best solution as it brings in new better ideas, more work, more investments, better unique scripts, and use of latest facilities.

lucman didnt announce any date, he announced his movie will release in summer of 2005 and he had a meeting with reema and other directors to make sure theres no clash and reema clearly stated her film will release right after muharum, and right after lucman announcved his film to release on 12th august so did reema right after, so who is unprofessional.

well you cant call someone unprofessional if you havnt seen any of his work, lucmans PPP was shown at gulistan in lahore 2 days ago wen he came back with the print from thailand and it got a great response, i had also come to lahore to catch it and was great, and no one will call him unprofessional after they see it, and i dont really blame syed noor, he was forced to make these gujjar badmash crap from his producers and the truck drivers audience, but he has come back stongly with majan and it looks great except for the lead actress and will be the first punjabi digital film, reema has also put in alot of effort in her film but lacks education and shaan is still living in the past by using old cameras in his film and making it non digital, but storey is kick ass.

yes the film has been delayed, the reason was that mubasher went to thailland to get the prints ready but unfortunatly he got badly ill and was expecting the prints at the lab to be ready but they also stoped, but now the film is ready and munasher is heading back to lahore with the prints tommorow and the film will release 1/2 week later.
well GOD saved lucman from a real disaster and i guess nadeem mandvi wala didn't disclosed the original reason behind the delay which is the lack of DTS cinemas cuz all the major dts cinemas throughout pak are showing koi tujh sa kahan from 12th august in karachi 2 major dts theaters r showing koi tujh sa kahan and only one theater left for ppp and same is the case in lhr and thats the genuine reason behind the delay any wayz this delay will prove beneficial for lucman
wat are you playing at, PPP was releaing with 20 prints all over pak, and had all DTS cinemas booked while KTSK is releasing on only 15 and only 3 of those are being played in DTS cinemas, while the rest were gona be played in non DTS cinemas,
well u told me to grow up and i was kept on saying that one of the two movies have to back out but u and mr lucman were quite sure for 12 august release heheeh any wayz cant stop laughing on u now sorry
back out? what are you dreaming off, the film will just release abit late due to a production fault.

The latest news about Lollywood is that both Reema and I are in Thailand right now and we are trying to bridge the gap to be able to support our two films. In fact I have to get ready and join her for Sunday Brunch in the hotel very shortly. Khalil Rana has decided to direct his film the Punjabi flick "Mohabattan Sachian" and Shahzad rafique of Salakain fame is no more directing it. The rift was over Veena and Nirma, guess what? Nirma has won and the director is out. Irfan Malik's film has bombed and so has Altaf Hussain's Aik Gunnah Aur Sahi. Nini is all set to commence his directorial debut of Nadim Mandiviwalla's film. They have just completed the music and I can tell you its out of this world and absolutely divine. Good news for all you out there the music has been composed by Ali Zafar and he has sung the male numbers whilst a new girl from rawalpindi has done the female bit and they are both splendidly stunning I must admit.
Javed Sheikh's film has been postponed as he has decided to shift his locations now its not Bulgaria anymore but likely to be Australia lets wait for this one should be good as it has a lot of talent from Bollywood.
Work on new ciniplexes has already begun in Lahore and that we hope will change the climate of the industry. Additionally the Punjab Goverment has started work on an Imax theatre that is expected to chip in a lot as well. I guess very soon the days will be over for our dated ancient large cinema houses that cant be maintained and soon we should have a culture of mutiplexes like the rest of the world.
Shoaib Mansur is simply held back and his film is stalled due to artists and primarily Junaid jamshed and Ali Zafar. Its a long film about 3 hours and the backdrop is Afghanistan. Should be good when it comes out. He works hard and is in love with his subject.
There are some youngsters in Lahore who have pooled a lot of money and imported some state of the art cameras and equipment and the governmetn is keen to develop a lab of international standards to help the local industry. Zara Sheikh is in Mumbai these days she is doing an item number of a film over there. Some Indian film people have asked us that they wish to be at the premiere of Pehla Pehla pyar and lets see how it goes.
When I get back to Pakistan we have a meeting on the 5th of August whence about 23 professionals have decided to form a club of directors, producers, studio owners etc to start 6 to 8 films at a time. This will ensure that all productions are of a certain quality and can have good story lines, production values etc. This idea has been going on for some time but now I feel it is very near fruitation. We have also decided in general to try new and emerging directors and refrain from the ones who have given nothing but vulgarity and bad artistic sense. However we still want people like Aslam Dar to make a film as he has always created a master piece whenever he made an attempt. Good news is that Javed Fazil is working on a script and so is Hummayun Saeed. I know for a fact that Jami and saquib Malik are very serious in their attempts and very soon you may witness a totally new climate emerging out of lollywood. For once the Government is also very supportive of all endeavours and for the first time I have seen a real interest and inputs at the highest levels. When we met the Prime Minister recently he was very clear about the kind of films that needed to be made and most of his comments are similar to what I have seen on your pages. He also feels our singers are very talented and that we may use the tool of co-production if and when requried but not simply to be able to say that we have Indian support. Which I feel is very logical and appropriate.
Its is no secret that our film industry is going through a very deep crises and unless revolutionary steps are taken it will be all over. From a ratio of almost 120 films a year we haev now come down to only 25 films this year. The good news is that the quality of Pushto films has imporved a lot and their the audiences have started to go back to cinemas and if we can pull up our socks then there is no reason we cant improve like them. But the single most detrimental factor ahs been blatant piracy and the cabel operators who also shamelssly indulge in piracy. No industry of the world can stand up to stealing adn we cant be an exception but recently the government of pakistan is beginning to crack against piracy and seems to be serious in tackiling this issue. I feel the trend will somewhat shift for a while to Punjabi films more as they are less effected by piracy and that we still make much better punjabi films than across the border. Then once we haev controlled our production values we can again enter the Urdu films that compete or are in comeptition directly with high budget Hindi films. The similarity of languages has been very bad. People tell me to learn from the Iranian cinema, but Iran never had to compete with a country much bigger, richer and more influential in cultural sense that was making films in farsi language..we are. In fact tehre is only one single example evry similar to our indurty's rpoblems and that is the United Kingdom. When Hollywood started it was more rich and technically sound. So the British started to institutionalise their industry anad decided that they were to concentrate on quality instead of quantity. I can be wrong but very soon I think a similar shift will be done in the pakistan cinema after all we have a lot of depth in our literature and no one can match us in that area. I hope and pray that together we all can contribute to reviving the glory days on Cinema in Pakistan.
With best regards Mubasher Lucman Director/Producer Pehla Pehla Pyar

mubashers response to this article
Folks unfortunately her antics are untrue and an attempt to generate free publicity and news for herself and her film. Reema has yet to launch her television promo or the theatrical one. She is still got to release her audio album and songs and no pics or photosets or anything. We announced the dates much earlier and released all of the above as you may be aware of. So lets hope that she too gets a good run at the box office and we do well as well. Our best wishes for anyone who wants to make a film and since when has any competition detered a real maker??

but sayed noor's movie will b released on eid so there is no competion with him
yep, and that is the right thing to do, if reema is afraid of competion she should also delay her film.
she has shown she is afraid of competition by going to the media to show her anger.
if she wants to clash with PPP on 12th august she should keep her mouth shut and so some confidence and then if her movie is good and turns into a hit she can go and say what she wants.

films dont turn into hits if they are clean and family films and flops if they are vulgar, if that was the case every film will be a clean and a family film.
if the film wants to be a hit it has to be good but that wasnt the case with tbjnj.

International Productions’ KABHI PYAR NA KARNA, being directed by Javed Raza.
