Amid twilight I rest in solitude,
prisoner of my sullen mood.
There is no escape from love's battle scar,
my captured heart by love afar.
As darkness falls, I wonder what I see,
a daydream or a memory?
I sit and wonder and begin to brood,
deafening silence, quietude
To see the world and its sounds of sadness,
overshadows life's joy and gladness.
Tell me, how will this heart get over you,
perhaps the songs of someone new.
Will his songs be sweet and his feelings grow?
if love shall bloom I do not know.
Will it wither, die as it did before,
maybe this time there will be more.
Until then I will spend each lonely day,
waiting for love to come my way.
Listening for love in a soft etude,
soothing songs in my solitude.
