Illusions


Illusions created,
Every single day,
Happiness, peace,
Never pave the way.

For what lies beneath,
The laughter and smiles,
To prepare us for,
Unforeseen trials.

We pretend all is well,
When we really know,
That anger lies waiting,
Waiting to grow.

Out of control,
Bursting into flames,
Arriving at the scene,
Playing all these games.

The illusion of peace,
Doesn’t last too long,
It always tells us,
We were very wrong.

To trust this illusion,
Like water turned to steam,
It was an illusion,
It was just a dream.

We pretend we are friends,
When all it really takes,
Is one small mistake,
And then I see it’s fake.

All of your kindness,
Your niceties and such,
All of your patience,
Your very gentle touch.

Were all just lies,
That you want me to believe,
To maintain the illusion,
Now I simply grieve.

That I even bothered,
To play this game with you,
That I took the illusion,
And did not see through.

Your pretense, the kindness,
The niceness that you showed,
The anger was there,
You just had it stowed.

Deep in your heart,
You couldn’t hide it though,
It had to come out,
Thanks, now I really know.

That you will never change,
You’ll never mend your ways,
The illusion won’t last,
Peace will always be a phase.

The Clouds


The clouds are back,
They'd gone away,
I really don't,
Know what to say.

The pain of past,
Of years gone by,
Were they a waste?
Or were there some highs?

Fear of teh future,
Of time unknown,
I hope I am ready,
To face things alone.

I pray these clouds,
Disperse quite fast,
Pain and worry,
Are never meant to last.

Butterfly, The Creature of Change and Survival


I grow,
I struggle,
I am not nurtured,
Nor cared for,
I learn the harsh lessons,
Of Life,
Alone.

Then,
Satisfied in my growth,
Having learnt my lessons,
I gain maturity,
I am ready,
For change.

I build walls,
Around myself,
To protect,
This change,
For change I must.

I hang,
Waiting patiently,
Change must occur,
For what else is left?

I push now,
I am impatient,
I have waited,
Long enough,
It is time.
I’ll show this world,
That I can survive.

One side of me,
Is exposed to the world,
Then another,
Slowly at first,
For I do not wish to shock,
Only to dazzle.

Released am I,
Free,
Free to show myself,
In all my glory,
In all my splendor.

For I have changed,
I am now,
Who I’m meant to be,
I am finally me.

So, fear not change,
It comes naturally,
Be brave,
Learn well,
And when,
The time comes,
Be free.

My Dream


I dream of a dream.
I dream that my dream shall someday come true.
I dream that all my dreams shall not remain just a dream.
I dream for that day when all these dreams are realized.
I dream that I don’t’ spend my days dreaming.
I dream that my dreams shall be more than just dreams.
I dream that these dreams will make me dream more.
Though these are dreams today,
I dream of making them a reality one day.
I will always be dreaming of these dreams,
So that I do have hope in life,
