NB:

singing Vande Mataram could bring one very close to the edge if it doesn't push over it - Allah swt don't like believers come close to His sanctuary, and shirk is the most prohibited one.

Prophet saw said something similar to that shirk saghira (small elements of shirk) panetrate the aqida of believers in such subltle ways that one cannot recognize them. He wSA arned us against them and called us to protect it with strenghts and let it not be corrupted.

I don't know why I had the feeling

Did you base your first decision on feelings too

If you did, then don't repeat that mistake.

Its far more complex than most people can imagine. Let me know if I can help.

Jazak allah khair Mr_nice_guy for posting the view of Quran.

I didn't think people responding to this topic understood sabr in the comprehensive manner as Quran puts it -- Most people think of Sabr being the act of suffering when options run out. Fasting is sabr by choice of offering worship and voluntarily staying away from normal consumptions of edibles and mating with spouses.

Also, sabr is not for once or twice or for limited times. Not giving up and remaining consistent is sabr. Its the strength of believer that keeps him/her from falling out. Its the gaurd, when lowered, shaitan punches right in the nose.

Sabr is like Eman, can't be let go at any moment. It may weaken but shall never be lost. Its the treasure of a believer. Its the pass to the paradise.

He is from us and is like us. He represents majority of us. We complain about him and others but never about ourselves. no angel descends from heavens to rule people, its their own people - rulers are mirrors of a nation. Mirror is not ugly, its the image that it reflects is what is unpleasant.

If we want to really hold somebody responsible for the conditions of the country, let's question our own elders - they set an example for us: They lived for themselves and cared less for the country, spread corruption, fed their children with haram and raised them for corruption with few exceptions.

In a sentence, we deserve him and he deserves us.

What do you mean? The ladies not wearing burka are charecterless?

let me ask you some basic questions before establishing what i mean.

1. One with eyes and a blind are equal in their ability to see?
2. Are knowledgeable person and ignorant equal?
3. Light and dark are equal?

I am sure you and everybody else will respond in negative. Also some may say, well! they may not be equal but not very far apart depending on the degree of blindness, relative difference in knowledge and ignorance, and light and dark.

Exactly, that's how characters differ from a person to another. In the case of burka, limits are between complete covering and complete bareness. you got the point!

Why the ladies are bound to show hayaa in this way? Why not men also are suggested to wear burka?

Danie, its very simple, that is how women committed to Islam want to present themselves as opposed to those who pride in exposing themselves. Apparently, you have problem with women who cover themselves but have no objection on those who shed their clothes.

my friend, women don't have to be the object of pleasure for the eye of man. Nor do they have to be a victim of man's desire of seeing every curve of her body. There are some who want to gaurd their chastity and their beauty for the one they find their partner, yet there are those who expose their beauty in varying degrees to others for recieving praise from every watching eye. They make that decision from their heart and mind. So let us not impose man's desire upon them.

For differences between two genders for showing hayaa are for differences in attractions and appeals. If you like, I can explain that to you.

Quran has hardly ever mentioned eman without action. One who believes and is comitted to hayaa, wears hijab, and the one who has doubts, avoids it.

Doc, Prophet saw did not perform any wonders with Quran as it was revealing and was established in his life and in the lives of his companions. He told about tertiary benefits of Quran toward the end of his blessed life.

Allah swt says about the real purpose of Quran: "to guide humanity, it is full of clear signs of Allah and criterion for right and wrong". Quran guides in the direction of goodness and benefit about all matters. It provides signs and indicators of consequences of actions and believes - which csn be used in conjunction with other knowledge to predict certain outcomes.

In regards to grasping the spirit of Quran:
We are in the month of Ramadhan in which Quran was revealed - fasting was prescribed in this month because of Quran. Lailatul Qadr was given a status as we know only because Quran was revealed in this very night.
Guess why

Quran is the guidance and a pure word of Allah which only comes in and benfits the heart that is clean and is attached to Allah. Read first few verses of Baqarah and you will understand that the quidance from this book is for "Muttaqoon" - and is the very purpose of fasting -- to become "muttaqoon".

Let us receive the Quran in our hearts and let it shine out in our acts and manners. Like when it was about the manners of the prophet SAW, Aisha RA said, He SAW is the practical Quran.

Mush's book launched yesterday, Him and his publisher are sole beneficiaries of this controversy - They will rake millions.

Mush could loose the confidence of US gov. He may get a similar treatment as that of Zia ul Haq - Bush's dead killed him.

Thanks CF, its Northeast(degrees as CF mentioned). It is infact based on shortest distance to Kaaba. In NA, it is via east as opposed to west in sub-continent.
